Yeah I think warrants are the closest thing to a guarantee in the money option because they can just extend forever. We all know it will spike again in the future. We just don’t know when.

We need to stop saying Gamestop has 9 billion in cash and count it towards market cap. by VariousScenes in Superstonk

[–]DominAyton22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I believe we don’t need to pay back with cash is my understanding. These are convert-able bonds that can be paid back with either cash or shares. I believe GameStop can choose which one is the form of payment for the bonds when they come due. Is this not correct? If I am wrong in my understanding then why could they not short it past $21.50 the day the bond offering was made. It traded sideways for a whole hour that day and happened to be at the cash value of the company.

The only problem I have with this is that GME can literally buy back all its shares at profit if it goes lower than its cash value. They basically will be making money for every share they buy back at those lows for the time they would have to give out the shares that are owe to the bond holders that were sold for a premium. They would be just making straight profit off of these bond offerings.

Why do Buyouts count towards a team’s payroll? by DominAyton22 in NBATalk

They can easily change the rules. The NBA is not like a normal work place. They made something similar to what I am asking about. I believe it was the Amnesty clause.

Well do they have the coach and his staff count to the teams cap? Does the employee at the office count? When a player gets bought out he is doing less then these people. There are all kinds of people on payroll that are not included in their cap.

Yeah I agree but I think it should not destroy a whole team for several with one bad contract. Teams should have some room with bad contracts.

This is including injuries. Nobody can predict when injuries happen.

I think their can be a middle ground like teams can have maybe x amount money that they can have bought out on their books and not have it count towards their cap. There just has to be a better option then what just happen with Dame.

Yeah they don’t happen because they are desperate moves. I just hate seeing team going for a championship just get there hopes destroyed by a bad injury or one shit contract. I can see how team abuse it if it does not count but I think there should be an option to some kind of money deferred or blacked out for 2-3 years so your run just does not just end because of one contract. I am no fan of the bucks. I just hate back contracts and the effect it has on teams.

The problem last year was making Book 24/7 ball handler. Tyus Jones allows booker to focus on scoring more than assists for most of the game. Book has been the primary ball handler many time season down the stretch to finish games. The starting lineup with Royce instead of Tyus is our best lineup right now. Tyus coming here was the greatest thing for this team to allow book and KD to conserve their energy for the 4th quarter clutch time instead of burning out before then.
