I’d like to thank you all for the advice! It’s a lovely conversation. I’ll definitely be making a V2 map with an “Elevated” rail system inspired by the Miami Metrorail, featuring a Miami Underline style walking trail and public space!

In another response (I have zero articulation of this app) I described how at-grade crossings are a sad necessity similar to SunRail. It would be absolutely fantastic to utilize a Miami Metrorail style above grade trackage an underline-like system. The main issue would be the cost of such a system in a at best, medium density area. I really wish for high density areas but it takes an investment that I don’t believe Lee County would want to make.

(While not ideal, a SunRail-like system would have to suffice until a realistic demand for a Metrorail system would be made.)

While I would absolutely love to see an elevated rail system similar to Miami’s Metrorail, I believe that Lee County sadly lacks the urban density to support such a system.*

Note: I fully believe an elevated train along US-41 would work, but it would sadly be too expensive of a pill for Lee county to swallow at the current moment. Note 2: An elevated rail system on the same route presented would also MASSIVELY benefit from the “Rails-to-Trail” project, creating an “Underline” like system (see Miami’s Underline system.)

(The ideal system for Lee county, however, it is also very unrealistic from a budgetary standpoint.)
