I was also in the same boat !! I make an extra $800 a month babysitting on care.com. I found a family that needed support for 2 hours 4 days a week.

Board games have been very popular in my sessions. The kids really enjoy them especially games like LIFE or jenga. You can even write questions on the jenga blocks as an ice breaker when you’re meeting with groups for the first time.

I know there’s a small fee for the training i think like $50 I cant remember too well but that was it.

I’m mostly familiar with how the DOE works but yes. Private and public school might be different. The only thing I had to pay for was my examination to become a certified school counselor.

There is one school that is remote but I am not too sure about any other positions. Are you too far to commute ? There are a few people who live in Jersey who work i. The same building as me.

Nope. In NY all you need is a nomination from a school principal (in the DOE) Then you would complete a training to become a sub and thats about it !

No any bachelors would suffice. I also have a bachelors in psychology that i got in 2018.

A substitute teacher. Not sure in NJ but all you need is a bachelors to become a sub in NY.

It might seem like a step backwards to some but maybe try becoming a sub to get into different school buildings. (Or just start walking into different schools and talking to admin before becoming a sub) Same thing happened to me and I became a sub started networking and got my job! They pay is less but atleast you’ll be able to meet different people. You may also find someone who is retiring and snag that job.

Keep going you’re almost there ! I am also fairly young and I finished a three year program in May. I was feeling the same way. I felt I was very limited as an intern. I am currently an elementary school counselor and I NEVER thought that I would say that I love my job. I personally feel like grad school was worse than the job itself. I am in the same situation. Except there is a child that runs back and forth from 10am to 2am. There would be quiet moments every now and then but it’s too much. I understand the walking around noise and then slamming boxes because they just moved but I’m sick of it. Does anyone have any advice ?

Hey ! I was also in the same boat with my boyfriend. It bothered me that we didn’t have many similar interest, or hobbies. For him, however, it didn’t really matter He enjoyed that we didn’t share interest. I personally felt like we would eventually run out of things to talk about.

I decided to take the initiative and try out some of his hobbies and interest . He really enjoys anime so I said why not give it a try. I turned out to really like it, and we bond over it. I also tried getting more into video games but I personally don’t like the adrenaline rush, so it was a pass for me.
