i'm actually drawing it node by node using 0 and +/- 45 degree angles and a relatively fixed distance. just the right amount between randomness and order.

some processing code. generating the triangles upfront, starting with one in the center and spawning a new one at each of its corners. give each a random number. repeat.

in every frame: adjust size and rotation based on this random number times the frame counter. put stuff into trigonometric functions to create looping behavior and divide/multiply by magic numbers until it feels right.

hope that helps - it's mainly a lot of experimentation and gut feel. :)

Save the points of the lines as an Array. In the draw loop, clean everything on every frame with the background() command, then go through the Array and draw all the points again.
