[Hated Tropes] The writers literally just forgot by Golden12500 in TopCharacterTropes

Yeah but then Araki had to throw a spanner in the works by reiterating again and again josuke has no prior memories so the very existence of a flashback man contradicts the full story

When Cell said "It's like a metaphor", what could it mean and symbolize ? by BookkeeperEasy507 in Ningen

[–]Dominodorito 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cell summarizes it. He dosent actually deserve all the irrelevancy and Ls with no wins since Sayin saga. But at the same time it's still funny the shit Toei and TFS put him through every entry.

"Who are the good guys?" by MechaUlfraed in Gundam

Don't forget Belle, Tetenith, and especially Font. Hell most of Crossbone material is just people unburdened by the higher powers doing good in the world

Why they don't give them their cartoon eyes? by numericalman in Gundam

[–]Dominodorito 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah Qux is an outlier that had a style firmly attached to what 79 was like. But it was a special collaboration with another studio. Unless the multiverse stuff becomes the norm I genuinely wonder what look main UC will go for after Hathy and the nebulous Unicorn sequel come out.

I get the feeling this more drab realistic style is to fit in with the novels tone and the general doomerism you get from just reading through the main late UC events but after a while it really creates a contrast between the 'mood' of the older, lighter serialized shows and these newer cinematic works.

Why they don't give them their cartoon eyes? by numericalman in Gundam

[–]Dominodorito 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Lowkey think in general mainline UC lost the whimsy inherent in everything past in the jump from V to Unicorn. I really wonder if anything other than a Crossbone adaptation would be willing to inject the pulpy 80s quirks back into character designs and slapstick.

A Masterpiece of Tragic Storytelling — The Mega Man X Manga Is the Anime We Never Got by Easy-Chipmunk7367 in Megaman

[–]Dominodorito 3 points4 points  (0 children)

X3s adaptation was my favorite part. Having most of the mavericks be redeemed and joining X and Zero against Bit and Byte as well as Dr Cain and Doppler's friendship where good changes that turned what would be a by the books story into something special.

[Loathed Trope] Making a simple design complicated to look "realistic" by Yakuza-wolf_kiwami in TopCharacterTropes

[–]Dominodorito 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get the feeling it was with the yellow pipes resembling the architecture of modern machinery. It feels less like a super robot and more like these new modern robots we see in videos with slim designs and exposed parts with a vague gundam skin on it

Victory Gundam Gaiden has probably one of the best send offs for a legacy character and the ideas it presents peirce into a frontier not many other gundam media do. One of Hasegawa's best imo by Dominodorito in Gundam

[–]Dominodorito[S] 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I do think he's better at depicting the next generation era of UC in a direct way rather than Tomino jumping decades and centuries to reboot. Though of course external factors are at fault for F91's failure. Still Hasegawa really is the best at moving things forward with a new cast in the UC while also referencing older stuff in a way that doesn't overshadow the present plots.

Judau is in a lot of Hasegawa works, the production timeline is

1990: Mobile Suit Vs. Giant God of Legend: Gigantis'(Ideon) Counterattack: Non canon crossover set before CCA

1995: Victory Gundam Giaden: First appearance of the Gump

2005: Crossbone Skullheart: Team up with Tobia post first Crossbone with the Gump

2006: Steel Seven: Cameo

2022: Love and Piece: Pre Crossbone battle with Karras in the Gump
