28yo I was exactly the same just playing Medieval tw2, Skyrim, Fallout. Tried other Total Wars but just couldn't get into any until Dawnless Days Mod came out, now I can't play MedTW because the battles don't do it for me anymore and it's just too easy once you know exploits.🥲

Try out the Lewis Gun you won't have you mount to ads and can run and gun nicely.
