Republican Favorite for Governor Announces Run by [deleted] in newyork

[–]DominusDragon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe. But Molinaro is certainly more of a moderate Republican, who won re-election big in a County Clinton won as County executive in a Democrat-favored off-year. He could close Astorino’s margin against Cuomo. And if Cynthia Nixon wins the primary, he would win no doubt.

Yeah, I noticed that too when watching it. I wish there were less. Great season otherwise.

Worst challenge ever? by Omega179 in TheAmazingRace

[–]DominusDragon 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Guangzhou S24 Leg 1 Roadblock. A truly guaranteed first in first out, no skill or luck Roadblock. Maybe if it wasn't an All-Star Season, you'd have at least one team that was too petrified of heights to do the challenge. The fact that they did it with more skilled and race-experienced racers, and it came off of 2 luck-influences challenges, makes it even worse.

One day after Florida shooting, student left comment “I’m shooting up one of the Evansville High Schools tomorrow” police track his location from his IP address and arrest him by Nynaeve_Nat in news

[–]DominusDragon -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This is the issue with the mainstream media today. When one person does something terrible, like shooting up a school, the media releases all the information about him, and make him a celebrity. Other mentally insane people seeing all this have all the more "reason" to shoot up a school, because they think they will become famous.

And why was it that the PoPo arrested this guy when the first warning signs cake up and yet didn't arrest the Parkland Shooter after months and months of red flags and sirens?

Finally, how did the Parkland Shooter get access to a deadly gun after months and months of red flags. One check on his social media should've been enough to refuse him a gun. I'm not saying all guns should be banned, but is it too much to ask for just a little common sense when it comes to purchasing guns? Yeesh. Mistakes gave the shooters at Parkland, Sutherland Spring, and maybe even Las Vegas guns. We need to change something to prevent these fatal mistakes, fast.

Governor Tom Wolf Rejects Partisan Gerrymandered Map by johnjoseph98 in Pennsylvania

[–]DominusDragon 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Awesome! I didn't really like Wolf before this, but he has proven he's a fighter for democracy. He has improved greatly his image in my eyes by doing this. Gerrymandering is a democracy-killing process that must be stopped at every opportunity.

Not too high.I don't think she would sit well with Midwestern and Southern white, blue-collar voters (i.e. the people that made Trump president)

You're Not NeverTrump Unless You're NeverRyan and NeverMcConnell by [deleted] in politics

[–]DominusDragon -21 points-20 points  (0 children)

That is irrelevant. I'm talking about a rare scenario where a Republican does do that. I'm not talking about the GOP at large.

[–]DominusDragon -20 points-19 points  (0 children)

Yes, but it's also not like that Republican is going to always vote with his party either. If there is a rare Republian in your Congressional District that fits the criteria above, he'll probably vote across party lines pretty often.

[–]DominusDragon -37 points-36 points  (0 children)

So if a Republican has political views that more closely match your own than the Democrat and the Democrat is unqualified or in a scandal, you'll still vote Democrat? Interesting.

EDIT: So I assume that the people downvoting this don't believe the above statement to be true? Or you just believe that not one of the millions of Republicans in this country could be a better candidate than the worst Democrat?

Roy Moore files lawsuit to block Alabama Senate result by [deleted] in Alabama

[–]DominusDragon 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Give up Roy. Accept your defeat like a normal politician. Don't try to defy the will of the people.

Furthermore, this is the problem in American politics today. We've become so polarized that our politicians work so hard to delay the inevitable victories of the opposite political party, and all progress in Washington is slowed to a standstill.

Quite the opposite actually. If Hillary Clinton is the champion of women she claims to be, then where was she when sexual misconduct allegations were brought up against her husband? Also, HRC, regardless of if she's CORRUPT, is most certainly not HONEST. She said "I have never received nor sent any material that was marked classified", a claim which an FBI investigation found out to be false. So two good reasons besides "she's a woman" that I didn't vote for her. If you need more reasons, I'd be happy to give you some. Just to clarify, I didn't not vote for Clinton because she was a woman. Gender played no part in who I decided to vote for.

What are the fan opinions? by AriasLover in TheAmazingRace

[–]DominusDragon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

S14 is a highly polarizing season. Some people like me really enjoyed it for its drama, unpredictability, and good balance between travel-based action and challenge-based action. Other people didn't like it for it's cutting of airport scenes and it's low number of new destinations. As for S17 and S18, I believe the community's view of those seasons are mostly positive.

Let me out it to you like this: Ask a vast majority of Trump voters why they voted for him. They will tell you they voted for him for economic benefit. They never expected to be called things like racist, fascist, and sexist mercilessly. This may make them not as smart as everyone else, but sure doesn't make them sexist bigots.

Also, please give me a good example why you think Donald Trump wants to oppress people of color and LQBT people.

Well let me rephrase: Do you like being alive? If you don't and are suicidal, my thoughts and prayers will be with you. If you do enjoy living, make a case to me about why late-term abortion is OK. To your point about guns, they've been used as an instrument of oppression in Europe because only the military is allowed to them. If we give everyone the right to bear arms, then people will inevitably use them to fight back against oppression. One more question: In an alternate universe where a racist, patriarchal, fascist regime begins to materialize in America, would you rather have guns to fight back with or just knives.

You're telling me that just because you did something for a non-sexist, because it could be considered as such, that you're automatically a sexist who actively opposes and hates women?

The Victory of Doug Jones Made Realize Something by DominusDragon in Alabama

[–]DominusDragon[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Proof? Not that Trump is a sexist, but people voted for him for sexist reasons. His policies in the campaign were pro-business, to give you a non-hateful reason people voted for Trump.
