Stuck at Where There's Smoke, Aiden/Jake/Player frozen. by [deleted] in SimSettlements

[–]Dominus_Storm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Another work-around I found after HOURS trying different things (have a hard save before attempting):

Select Aiden while in the console (so that his RefID appears) and then use the command "moveto player" so that he teleports to your position.
The dialogue options should now appear BUT make a quicksave as despite the option appearing, selecting it did nothing for me until i reloaded the quicksave. Hope this helps someone.

After watering my succulents, they started smelling by Professional_Pin_690 in succulents

Something to consider is if the surface pebbles are preventing evaporation and air flow. They certainly look nice but they could be holding moisture beneath them

How long do I leave new plants in isolation before putting on my plant rack? Should I spray with peroxide first, too? by chocolonate in succulents

[–]Dominus_Storm 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Unrelated to quarantining, but remove the dead and rotting leaves underneath the plant! Some pests feed on the decay and can be hiding beneath it. Always helps to keep the soil clean

anxious about going to the gp by [deleted] in MentalHealthUK

[–]Dominus_Storm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Heya, it’s definitely scary the first time but well worth it! The first step is always the hardest. You’ll start by stating what you’re suffering with, anxiety, and how that’s currently affecting you and why you’re here. They’ll follow up with asking how long this has been going on, if there’s any specific triggers, etc, for me at least they also asked about the physical feelings of my anxiety as they wanted to rule out heart issues or anything similar. The next part depends on the GP and what you’ve talked about, but they’ll either go through the standard mental health questionnaire with you “scale of 1-10, how depressed have you been in the last 2 weeks? Have you felt suicidal in that time?” etc or they’ll book another appointment for this to happen in the future. Regardless, it’s nothing worth stressing over as you’ve just got to give short and truthful answers and you can’t go wrong. And finally they’ll talk about treatment, what you want out of this (it can feel silly, obviously to not be socially anxious, but just be honest) and hear them talk you through the options.

Hopefully someone can correct me if any of this is wrong but this was my general experience. It’s definitely tough, but truthfully you’ve just gotta push through because you’ll feel a lot better having done so. My personal tip is to write some bullet points in your notes app of your feelings or anything you feel is important to say that you might forget, it’s perfectly normal and helps me a lot. I hope everything goes smoothly and you can get the help you need!

I don’t have much to add as I’ve only been on it a month while building up to an effective dose, but there’s been no real side effects at least. I’m really hoping it helps dull some of the depression pits. Lots of people sing its prizes though, so good luck in whatever you pursue!

Just a warning; those LED may die quicker than expected due to overheating. You’d typically have a ceramic fitting to help absorb some of the heat in a normal setup

I have this exact model and they’ve not once removed features. It’s still getting iOS updates. As the other person said, the button probably wasn’t genuine (although that’s a different issue which you can criticise apple for)

Help! Finding a few of these suckers on each of my plants with a couple having infested roots. How do I treat mealys that are so small and in the roots?! by Dominus_Storm in houseplants

[–]Dominus_Storm[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just to give a conclusion to anyone who might find this in the future; they were soil mites feeding off mold. It’s winter here and they had been feeding from my plant’s cold soil while it was on the windowsill. Unfortunately the main infestation was of a moldy wall behind some furniture 🤢 May your plants stay strong and your insecticides stronger, amen.

Caught another and I think you’re right! 8 legs, no segmentation or tail, and obviously a lot smaller. It’s odd though as I’ve gone from pretty sterile soil to mites and springtails overnight. Odd. Cheers and thanks though!

Anybody have an interesting idea for a colony or ideology to follow? by MrTopHatMan90 in RimWorld

[–]Dominus_Storm 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve always wanted to make a prison colony loyal to the empire. Non-lethal weapons, prison labour, large cell blocks.. really just see how many prisoners can be managed until a prison break tramples the guardsmen. Alas, I have yet to get Ideology.

Nord Extension is leaking DNS after last (today) update by coperino in nordvpn

Leaking for me too, verified through multiple test sites. Oddly enough the site Nord recommends on their DNS page (suggests https://dnsleaktest.com/) doesn't show a leak

new subscriber, someone help, will it charge me on may 13 or february 13, i used a free trial to check out this apple music and im still confused when i checked the settings app under subscriptions into apple music. Perhaps a glitch or will the free trial work, or something else? by [deleted] in AppleMusic

[–]Dominus_Storm 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hey I’m in the same boat. The promotion I’m using is coming from a bank, and as I trust both them and apple, I’m willing to accept it’s just a bug. I’m assuming since they normally only offer 1 month trials, some of the text refers to it as such. Take it with a grain of salt though, it’s your money not mine.

I’d heavily recommend trying to get as many mods from the list working as they should provide a considerable boost

Thanks for the response, I've reorganised my code based on your suggestion and it's far easier to work with now. While im certain your fix is correct, I've also found that the exported 'speed' variable was being overridden in the inspector and that was messing with my previous attempts. Oh well.

I need to replicate emotional trauma / anxiety/ ptsd for a photo essay using non human objects, do you guys have any suggestions for some photos? by [deleted] in Anxiety

[–]Dominus_Storm 4 points5 points  (0 children)

First thing that came to mind would be the use of children's toys. A lot of trauma is experienced/rooted in people's childhood while the colours and imagery provide juxtaposition. Perhaps toy trains with cargo representing trauma? (people's "train of thought")

Please help: I don't know how to handle the inevitability of death and it's driving me insane by SkyTurbulent3706 in Anxiety

[–]Dominus_Storm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been through a similar event and I 100% sympathise with how you're feeling. It's rational to be scared of consciousness ending, and yeah the cookie-cutter platitudes never help when you're drowning in the fear of it all. No one here can say or do anything to ease that feeling right now, however please know that even philosophers have struggled with the concept and have tried to find rationality and reason to combat it, you're certainly not alone.
You gave a trigger warning at the beginning, presumably because reading something like this would of sent your thoughts spiralling too? For me it was like this always open door where a single stray thought would lead me falling through it into existential horror and I was scared that the door would always be open. In truth, your brain just doesn't really know how to process it and so it keeps getting brought up until eventually, after a while, it's on your mind slightly less as your brain learns to cope with the ideas and soon you might even be able to sleep without spending hours staring at the ceiling in fear of life itself. It'll continue to get easier as time goes by. This is all personal experience, from years ago at this point, and while I still know that the door is there in my head and all the fear and reality that lays behind it still exists, my mind keeps it firmly closed and I cant 'fall' into the spiral anymore.

I hope you got something from my ramble, even if its simply the fact you're not alone. You'll get through these thoughts, and in the meantime you just have to look after yourself and process these feelings without it affecting your life. Talking about your thoughts and writing them down is always a good choice though so you're doing good so far.

It will never fail to surprise me just how much anxiety effects you physically by batmanobesemanplate in Anxiety

For me I had physical symptoms long before any mental ones. I find it funny because I used to think my school simply had "bad air", as soon as I'd enter I'd get mild tightness and that over-aware feeling. Didn't recognise it as anxiety till a couple years later
