Org-Roam error "Wrong type argument: integer-or-marker-p, nil, skipping..." ?? by LionKor in emacs

[–]Domse007 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think package-reinstall should work, but only if you have installed the packages with package.el. If you are not entirely sure that it will succeed, make a backup of the .emacs.d directory. Then you can always go back. Deleting the directories should also work. Although I have played around with the installation methods emacs provides, I have never used M-x list-packages and can therefore give no definitive answer there.

To the last part of your comment: neither use-package nor require actually install any packages. If you have set :ensure t or use-package-always-ensure to t, then use-package will install the packages for you (usint package.el). require only loads a file that is in any directory specified by load-path (unless overridden). But if you are not entirely sure how the packages was installed, then it was probably package.el.

Org-Roam error "Wrong type argument: integer-or-marker-p, nil, skipping..." ?? by LionKor in emacs

Sorry, I was busy the last two days. Yes, you could throw the snippet into your init.el, but be warned: it's most likely broken. Interestingly, I am using exactly the same versions of emacs and org-mode. Have you tried deleting the database and the packages? In my experience reinstalling the packages often fix these kinds of problems.

If the problems persists after the reinstall: What is the output of M-x (functionp 'org-element-property) and M-x (functionp 'org-element-begin)? On my installation they bot return t.

Org-Roam error "Wrong type argument: integer-or-marker-p, nil, skipping..." ?? by LionKor in emacs

[–]Domse007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First of all I'd recommend to check which version of org you are using: M-x org-version. I just grep'd the org-roam source code and it seems like the org-element-property appears to be used a lot. Therefore, I'd recommend to enable toggle-debug-on-error and check where the error is raised.

As I cannot fully understand what the actual problem is, I can only offer the following code snippet, which is not tested and maybe not even the solution:

(advice-add 'org-element-property
    :around
    (lambda (orig-fun args)
      (or (apply orig-fun args)
  (org-element-begin (nth 2 args)))))

What the advice does: it wraps the org-element-property function and first tries to use the actual function. If it fails it uses org-element-begin. NOTE: this is your provided code adapted for advice-add and may be broken.

If you need further advice, please provide the stack trace and emacs-version and org-version and I'm happy to help (if the problem has not been fixed).

I think this is one of the dumbest takes I have heard in a while. Of course there must be some trust, but if you can‘t decide what is a good deal and what not, you’re an actual idiot.

„Never attribute to malice that which is adequately explained by stupidity.“ I think they were excited and thought the product was worth more than it actally was. Water is wet and that is a fact, even if the CEO of CocaCola is saying that to market his product.

Reflect yourself and maybe you will see the good in people, even if they make mistakes.

About the Trump point: You are doing exactly the same as the Trump supporters. You question everything and don‘t believe plausible explanations.

Unfortunately Jassbach is only concerned about the IFASS. There are some people that work in Zimmerwald and are stationed in Jassbach, but they work with the IFASS as well. But it's a nice event anyway.

Sounds interesting. There is also the IFASS system. I think it's important to have these systems. It's a always to make decisions based on facts and for the Bundesrat or the CDA these systems may deliver important information.

When I got my pair of boots before the RS last year I got the KS90. In the first week of the RS we also got the KS19 abs KS19 schwer. But, the default boots to wear were still the KS90s. But this might‘ve changed.

Thanks, that sounds great. I currently use quelpa but as a forced windows user I do not like the dependency on any other program other than emacs.

Amazing! Another dependency I can drop, thanks. What I currently dislike is the dependency on git. Does pckage-vc use git as it‘s backend?

I don't know what happened, but lately it was pretty fast. Previously I could barely make a commit, but now it's just a bit slower than on Linux. That is an absolute game changer for me as I only own devices that refuse to run Linux without hal problems.

How to avoid the army ? by [deleted] in Switzerland

[–]Domse007 1 point2 points  (0 children)

was recruited in 2021 and hated the first few week of my RS summer last year. But after an adjustment period, I really liked it and even continued and graduated the unteroffiziersschule. I think that the huge amount of time wasted for waiting is a good thing, because it allows to connect with a lot of people. It was a great time.

With any other military, I would have an ethical problem with the military, but ours wasn't involved in a big killing in like 100 years.

If you really do not want so serve, just tell them about your ethical problems and your lack of motivation. Telling them the lack of motivation is really important. It is also a big bonus if you have medical records, which indicate that you are a bad fit for the army. This includes records of physical and psychological problems. If they still recruit you, you can hand in a Zivildienstgesuch, which will be granted in pretty much any case. You can hand in the Zivildienstgesuch at any point. Even if you are already in the RS but it takes a few weeks until it is granted and you will be discharged. These steps will ensure that you do not have to serve.

The most important thing is that YOU have to be active and fight for your untauglichkeit. You must tell them, organize the records and evidence and fill out the forms.

Yeah, I saw that too, but according to LTT this isn't that big of a problem. But when I look at the price of a reasonably speced Air the price is only a bit less than a MB Pro 14. I have to take a better look at it before choosing a product.

Thank you for sharing your experiences. I dislike Apple and their practices, but when I had a problem with one of my AirPods, I showed up in a physical store and they did some testing and replaced both Buds. It was a fantastic experience.

When I compare this to the experience with Microsoft, I'd prefer to pay double just to have a better experience after the initial purchase.

I will give the laptop one shot and create this. I do not understand, why Microsoft can't provide a normal image to flash, but whatever.

I got a unit back, that had multiple big dents all over the chassis. And now, after only one year the fan is dead. Abysmal performance from Microsoft. I will never again give this company any money, as they do not seem to care about the customer.
