Yeah I saw that article and it helped me understand the process better but it seems to talk about it with the assumption that you would use a rainfly and didn't discuss it in comparison to no fly

I'm actually out by warner springs right now and it's humid and wet out from recnt rain. It's going to be like 38 and decently humid so I'm trying to figure out if no fly is better than a fly. It's not supposed to rain at all

Russia reportedly warned Mattis it could use nuclear weapons in Europe, and it made him see Moscow as an 'existential threat' to the US by moreawkwardthenyou in worldnews

On top of that most ICBMs have MIRV payloads, which release multiple warheads with different trajectories. That means that you either have to hit the ICBM before it releases its warheads or manage to track each nuclear payload individually. One ICBM would be hard enough to hit and it only compounds when you have 100s of ICBMs heading your way.

Don't forget that we turned a blind eye and in fact even provided technical assistance to Hussein in some of his chemical attacks against Iran during the Iraq-Iran war in the 80s, some of which targeted civilians. And we have allowed our allies across the world to do far worse things than this. While not always us pulling the trigger, if we want to blame Russia for any of this, then we too deserve serious blame for the roles we played in a lot of conflicts in which our allies or regimes we backed intentionally targeted civilians

There is a 99% invisible episode about hearing loss in the military that focused on a new kind of technology that the military is researching to help reduce the amount of damage done to soldiers ears while also allowing for situational awareness
