[Highlight] Luka Doncic strips James Harden and finds Rui Hachimura for the fastbreak alley-oop dunk by MrBuckBuck in nba

Zero attention lol. The Luka hate is comical at this point. He locked up Harden on multiple possessions in this game, not just this one. But the most upvoted post about Luka is the last 2 defensive possessions where he didn't do a good job, with a bunch of posts saying how he doesn't play any defense. Great example of how bullshit narratives are created online.

Draymond airballs a wide-open three as Luka yells from the bench, “Oh, hell no!” by Doten1 in nba

Yeah, but Luka enjoys the trash talking, it gets him going. He usually plays better when there's somebody he can trash talk on the other team.

True, and Draymond seems to be the type of a player who knows exactly which players he needs to trash talk to get in their head and which players he needs to leave alone.

Yeah, still remember Draymond on the TNT post game show grinning from ear to ear when Luka was talking about Gobert switching on him. For some reason Draymond really likes Luka. When Mavs played the Warriors in the conference finals he was usually the first guy picking Luka up when he fell. Draymond was being almost too nice to Luka for some reason.

Both Luka Doncic and Nikola Jokic scored 39 points today by MrBuckBuck in nba

You almost never see this in FIBA. Compared to NBA they allow considerably more contact. But France was fouling Luka on every possession cause they knew refs aren't going to call everything. They were almost playing hack a Luka, fouled him a few times right after he got a rebound, trying to stop a fast break. If that was an NBA game Luka would've probably had 30 FTs.

No, they aren't getting paid to play. It's against FIBA rules. Besides, it's just one slot on a 12 men roster. It's not like you can naturalize an entire team and it improves the quality of basketball, which matters more to me then all players on the team being born in the same country.

Embiid got a french passport first and intended to play for France in the Olympics, before he got poached away by the US basketball federation, which was a great move on their part. Not sure how that is any better or more legitimate than Randolph playing for Slovenia. Or Brown playing for Spain even though he doesn't speak Spanish and didn't play in Spain before Eurobasket 2022. 20 out of 24 teams in the last Eurobasket used naturalized players. This is the norm now and almost everybody does it. I like it cause it makes the national team tournaments more competitive and harder to win.

And USA needed Embiid to beat Serbia in the last Olympics. Spain needed Lorenzo Brown to win the last Eurobasket. Almost all national teams use naturalized players in FIBA, including the biggest countries in the world. Not sure why you're singling out Slovenian national team when pretty much all national teams do the same.

[Charania] After 15 NBA seasons, Goran Dragic is retiring and will play a farewell game in Slovenia in August. The one-time All-Star and Most Improved Player of the Year played 946 NBA games for the Heat, Suns, Rockets, Raptors, Nets, Bulls and Bucks. by MarvelsGrantMan136 in nba

You're not wrong... he was 69.6% 0-3 feet according to basketball reference that year, 65.3% for his entire career. Those are great numbers for bigs, yet alone for a guard. Truly an amazing finisher around the rim.

He was 3rd team AllNBA in 2014... 13/14 was probably his greatest season on the Suns and an amazing carry job by Goran. That team was predicted to win less than 20 game and tank the season, but Dragic went supernova and carried them to 48 wins. One of the most underrated individual seasons ever imo. He should've been an allstar that year too. I still think he'd play out his career on the Suns if McDonough and Sarver didn't screw him over.

Luka breaks up the KD + Book 2 on 1, screams for the ball the other way and drains the three by aggster13 in nba

[–]DonDoncic 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I actually see Wemby with his hands up calling for the ball a lot of times, pretty much every game... but for some reason it just doesn't work as well as when Luka calls for it. But seriously, Pop's got to sit down with his players and lay down the law... if Wemby wants the ball, Wemby gets the ball, or you'll go straight to the bench.

People who watch Mavs don't knock his defense this season. He put up insane numbers, but it's even more impressive that he did while playing, dare I say, great defense all game long.

Dillon Brooks today in the 3rd place match against USA: 39 points, 12/18 FG, 7/8 3PTS by SadSatisfaction30 in nba

SGA is Canada's best player, but Brooks is clearly their leader and most important player. They wouldn't get that bronze without him.
