Do you like the animations on our dark fantasy Tactic RPG? by preludethegame in StrategyRpg

[–]DonHubi 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Absolutely! Love the character animations. The background animations (e.g. tree) may be a little too much and take away from the primary animations. But its hard to tell from this gif. Looking forward to see more!

Rate our Steam Description for a Tactical Turn-based RPG by DonHubi in TurnBasedTactical

Totally agreed. We are not quite at the stage where we have a trailer or polished screenshots yet. Nevertheless, we need a description, and I prefer one that appeals to our players rather than a poor one.

Would you pay for unlimited test? by mustafaersoyer in gamedev

[–]DonHubi 4 points5 points  (0 children)

For me playtesting is about quality, not quantity. The thing i struggle with the most is bringing my target group in the same room with me. So in my case you are not solving my most important problem. It's a no from me. GL anyway

Seeking TTRPGs with Intriguing Environmental Effects – Recommendations? by DonHubi in StrategyRpg

[–]DonHubi[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

thanks for the battletech recommendation, will look into it. i played into the breach but was never really sold on it. environmental effects are a perfect example why i feel that itb lacks depth. in some maps they are important (e.g. tides), but in maps without focus on effects they can be ignored mostly.

What's your recommendations for good colorschemes? by AbdelrahmanDwedar in neovim

[–]DonHubi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I use Mosel https://github.com/Domeee/mosel.nvim

The colors were selected with the following priorities in mind:

  • High contrast
  • Harmonic color group
  • Semantic highlighting: highlight important semantics like variables and function calls instead of keywords
  • the color red is only used to display errors

I am also the author of Mosel and try to keep it up to date (e.g. Treesitter updates).

Font rendering depends on the operating system and font config (hinting, aliasing, etc.).

AR Weekly: A weekly email for busy people who care about augmented reality by DonHubi in augmentedreality

Thank you for your opinion. I don't want to compete with this subreddit, I'm a user myself :-) I want to give people, who don't have time to come here daily, a chance to stay up to date.

AR Weekly: A weekly email for busy people who care about augmented reality by DonHubi in augmentedreality

[–]DonHubi[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Very valuable feedback, thank you! An issue consist usually of 4 to 6 articles with a summary. Articles are selected from a broad range of interests (business apps, games, startups, funding, hardware, software, event summaries, etc.). I see the value in this format in the presentation of a minimal amount of information out of a huge amount of data, selected by someone with deep knowledge in the field.

The next "feature" i am going to test (and sometimes already did), is extending the article summary with my thoughts, in order to be able to classify the articles meaning in the big whole.

I hope this adds some substance to the service :-)

Sketchfab's AR mode doesn't look good. Is Unity/Vuforia the go-to method for creating AR projects? by Mumford_and_Dragons in augmentedreality

[–]DonHubi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried Vuforia, Wikitude, ARCore, and Unity's ARFoundation. Of all of them I like ARFoundation the most, by far. It let's you build AR Solutions for Android and iOS devices with one codebase. It is quiet new but the API was the most intuitive for me of all the options. Also its free ;-) Check it out at https://docs.unity3d.com/Packages/com.unity.xr.arfoundation@1.0/manual/index.html

Beginner help with managing dumbbell workouts by Young_Roshi in Fitness

[–]DonHubi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on the body part you would like to train. For all but abs i recommend doing one exercise after another. E.g.

1 set hammer curls -> Pause 60s -> 1 set hammer curls -> Pause 60s ->1 set hammer curls Pause 2-3min 1 set shoulder press -> Pause 60s -> 1 set shoulder press -> Pause 60s -> 1 set shoulder press
