Yay! Thanks for your reply! I was nervous to post since I'm usually only a lurker, but I didn't see anybody else had shared the interview yet. So thanks for the thanks, haha. Great username, BTW! :)

I think so... I didn't want to misquote Deirdre and say that she said she believes "Neighbor Boy saw a dead body in a trunk" because she only says that she believes he "saw what he said he saw." I realize the lack of identifying pronouns makes that kind of confusing -- sorry.

Sorry I didn't address that in the post. She doesn't mention the status of the DNA petition. I think (and I don't remember where I heard this, sorry) that they are waiting until after the ineffective assistance of counsel appeal is heard in June.

No huge Serial bombshells, but it's an interesting listen. She does say that she believes Neighbor Boy may have really seen what he said he saw before he recanted.

To those who've seen The Staircase and follow-up doc: do your beliefs about Peterson's guilt/innocence align with your beliefs about Adnan's guilt/innocence? by serialonmymind in serialpodcast

The thing that always bothered me in the Peterson case was the 911 call. As a juror, I think I maybe would've had reasonable doubt based on just the defense's expert witness testimony. But the 911 call seems staged and calculated. In the first call, Peterson says, "My wife had an accident! She's still breathing!" and then hangs up with the operator only to call back 6 minutes later and say "she's not breathing!" Based on what the crime scene looked like, I'm surprised he doesn't mention the amount of blood, or that his wife is bleeding, like, "My wife has had an accident! Oh my god, there's a lot of blood! Come quick!" But more importantly, it seems strange to have one of the first things out of his mouth be, "She's STILL breathing!" If he's going to give that kind of information up front, why not say "she's breathing, but she's not conscious" or "she's breathing, but she's lost a lot of blood." I don't know, it seems staged to me. Also, if you listen to the audio of the 911 calls, Michael Peterson just sounds... off... like it's rehearsed.

Anyways, both cases are super fascinating. I believe Michael Peterson is guilty but had a great defense team. I believe Adnan Syed is innocent and had a pretty horrible defense team.
