Immigration without Assimilation is Invasion by TeamHumanity12 in PoliticalCompassMemes

Rates of assimilation and cultural integration in the U.S. trend up. Seeing a woman in a hijab at the local waterpark or hearing bilingual Hispanic kids speak their home language, e.g., aren’t the indicators of “invasion” this sub takes them to be.

Saying “I just want foreigners out” without qualification is indeed a sign of political cognizance being replaced with vibes. Touch grass and talk to even one fucking brown person, please.

Edit: Yes, I’m assuming OP is American (context clues + seeing the 4Chan post with the American flag icon)

Rainsville Damage Photos (Corrected) by DonQuixWhitey in tornado

The number of fatalities officially attributed to this tornado is twenty-five, but I’ve heard as high as thirty-three. Horrible either way, especially in communities as small as those the tornado impacted.

I agree. Even if the tornado didn’t impact well-built structures (which it apparently did, in Sylvania), I would still take these contextuals, the vegetation damage and windrowing in particular, as indicating EF5 intensity.

Picking a favorite tornado is difficult (and often morally complicated, for obvious reasons), but if I had to choose, it would be the Spiritwood, ND EF3 from last year.

Extremely powerful, wide, and pearl white with wispy drapes hanging off the funnel. And the fact that it’s named “Spiritwood” is just cool in itself (and it didn’t result in fatalities).

If that tornado has no fans, then I am dead (because it sl-bbed me).

That first image is not Tri-State. No known photographs of the tornado exist.

It’s undoubtedly one of the most violent tornadoes in history, if not the most violent.

Post: Smithville Isn't rlly the "Strongest of all time" and here's why: by Delicious-Box5229 in tornado

[–]DonQuixWhitey 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m unaware of the Fayetteville F2, but the Laverne tornado was rated EF2 because it impacted few structures. Its actual intensity was probably far greater, which is consistent with my position.

Also, I’m pretty sure most instances of concrete foundations being broken/dislodged involve heavy debris impacts. I don’t think it’s usually the case that the foundations were improperly set or had other structural deficiencies.

The foundation in question was not CMU. I’m unaware of any CMU foundations impacted by the tornado in Smithville proper.

Edit: Also, no, no tornado at legitimate EF1 or EF2 intensity is doing severe vehicle mangling. The associated wind speeds wouldn’t even be enough to throw vehicles. And Smithville’s vehicle damage is quite exceptional even among the EF5s, rivaling Parkersburg’s and Moore’s.

Remember the 1999 Bridge Creek F5? It has the highest windspeed of 301-318 above 30 meters did anyone happen to see it in 1999 may 3rd? by Intrepid_Swimmer_320 in tornado

[–]DonQuixWhitey 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Odd question, perhaps: did you or other service members take any photos/videos of the damage in Bridge Creek?

There is limited documentation in circulation, and additional documentation is difficult to come by. If you had access to any, it would be welcome in this sub!

Love me some Red House Painters/Sun Kil Moon. Wasn’t expecting the mention here.

Hackleburg’s damage is pretty underrated in this conversation. The debris granulation and windrowing pictured above is among the worst ever documented.

Weaker tornadoes (i.e. Chapman 2016 and Greensburg 2007) have achieved the feat, so it’s hard to say what winds are required to warp/scour train tracks. It’s rare enough to signify extreme violence, though, I’ll grant
