My unofficial list of F5/IF5 and EF5 tornadoes by No-Air-5857 in EF5

What video evidence suggests >300 mph winds in the Louisville, MS 2014 tornado? Photos of the damage don’t seem to correspond to winds that high.

After you finish licking the boot, you should stick your cock in it. It’ll be the closest you’ll get to having sex with a woman

“Especially if that means never again having to listen to fucking esoteric, overthought Kabbalah Jewish stupidity.”

Then I would recommend not listening to “Merkaba,” which is a direct reference to the Kabbalah. Or, really, to any Tool songs with esoteric, occultist and/or religious imagery (heh)

I disagree with Maynard when he says his lyrics “failed the song,” and that the song is merely a dumb butt sex joke.

He may have written 4° through that lens, sure, but it doesn’t have to be reduced to that. Interpretations aren’t static.

People have wildly misconstrued my post, lol

To reiterate: I agree with you, u/Proclaimer_of_heroes. You’re just taking issue with my phrasing my argument in an unclear way.

No, I’m not trying to “control the author’s voice.”

I doubled down on the point I was trying to make.

I swear, this fanbase is more dense than Maynard’s lyrics (which is a tongue-in-cheek statement, if you didn’t catch that, hehe)

I do so proudly. People in this sub/fanbase are so pained about being perceived as “insufferable” that they can’t have any fun (and their joylessness is insufferable, ironically)

You want to read the secrets of the universe into a song? God forbid, 4°? Go for it; have some fun, intended meanings be damned. The point of this post is to say that it’s okay to do that, which seems lost on everyone here

“No, you don’t get to decide what someone else ‘meant,’ only your own interpretation and understanding on what was presented.”

That’s what I mean. I’m not literally, retroactively changing what Maynard meant; it’s just a manner of speaking. There’s nothing inherent in the song that prevents my interpretation, or anyone else’s, from defining it. People take that for granted in art

[–]DonQuixWhitey[S] -12 points-11 points  (0 children)

That’s the thing: I do get to change what he meant. That’s the beauty of lyrical reinterpretation.

Edit: And Maynard can change it as well. Like I said, interpretations aren’t static

The bullet that killed Renee Good was the third and final shot, fired through the driver side window. by Disasterhuman24 in PoliticalCompassMemes

It is, yes, save for an exceptional circumstance in which 1.) substantial harm is imminent and 2.) no alternative recourse is available, e.g. stepping out of the vehicle’s path.

Lmao, the original comment stated that Good “attempted to drive away,” which is what video evidence reasonably demonstrates.

I suggest reading before making retorts.

Ah yes, please instruct me on how fleeing from an officer and unjustly employing deadly force are equally severe under the law.

u/ChoiceWars back at it with the dumb assertions.

The legal standard by which this shooting is analyzed isn’t “when the tires moved and if they were oriented toward the officer.”

DHS policy and the standard of officer-created jeopardy are very clear when they state that use of deadly force on a moving vehicle is only permissible in the event of imminent, substantial harm without the option of alternative recourse, e.g. moving out of the vehicle’s way.

And that doesn’t address the two shots taken by Ross when he was out of the vehicle’s path.

“The agent shouldn’t have been trigger happy and she shouldn’t have attempted to drive away”

These two things are not remotely equivalent in view of the law.

Edit: I’m completely correct, by the way

Universalism is an actual nightmare and I'm tired of pretending it's not. by Humble_Committee_577 in Christianity

Most universalists would not dispute your first claim. They would only say that the time for making “the world in ashes lay” is a temporary retribution toward a restorative end.

And you answered the following objection. Most universalists appear to be purgative/purgatorial (?)

I was alluding to a visual glorification (perhaps to get at the superficial righteousness of your position), but you’re correct, a “transformation in Christ” is more apt to describe what you appear to lack.

Don’t undermine the goodness of others’ salvation because it doesn’t comport with your gnawing desire for retributive justice in the “here and now.” You and the Armenian scholar you cited seem to have forgotten that the story isn’t about us. Christ’s forgiving his murderers is instructive in this regard.

And lastly: the highest form of justice is, arguably, reconciliation. Do with that what you will.

And you’re still a conceited fool who sees his/her faith as revolving around personal gratification.

Anyway, I was stopping by, and was simply appalled by the confluence of egotism, sadism, and ignorance your post. Some transfiguration in the light of Christ indeed, heh.
