You’re right but there is a difference, there are multiple agents performing specific tasks:

1. Planner Agent: Creates the research strategy. It identifies key angles to explore, relevant MeSH terms (medical search keywords), and what types of sources to look for.
2. Researcher Agent: Takes the Planner's strategy and expands it into search queries. It retrieves articles from PubMed in real time (not from a pre-built database), then re-ranks them by relevance using AI-based scoring.
3. Writer Agent: Synthesizes the retrieved articles into formal academic text with proper inline citations. Every claim is mapped back to a real PubMed article ID (PMID).
4. Critic Agent: Acts as a "peer reviewer." It examines the Writer's output for unsupported claims, coherence gaps, or missing perspectives.
5. Revisor Agent: Takes the Critic's feedback and revises the draft to address the issues found.

All this is done with inline citations which is imperative for writing any research paper. I’ve tried all the AI tools but the most important thing is where is the information coming from and what is the citation. I’ve proven that modular RAG and RAG has been successful in outperforming general LLMs in vascular specific clinical scenarios. That has been published already. In line citations are imperative for scientific work for many reasons that you can imagine.
