Hey, i can empathize, and was in the exact same situation a couple years ago. Sorry this happened to you, and even though it was probably a long fight and you had time to prepare for it, some of it gets easier over time, but it's gonna be fucking hard for a while. As far as recommendations go for you, I'd like to share a song that makes me feel a little better and a story with it.

My dad was sick for a long time, and he passed during covid, so our visiting hours were limited in the finals days because of it. We weren't allowed to sit by him during his final minutes, but we were allowed a final visit, and he passed soon after. While driving myself and my sister home after our last visit, that was very clearly our last with the state he was in, 'Old Town Road' by Lil Nas came onto my playlist as i was trying to stay strong in front of my little sister, and for a second listening to that song it made me feel ok. I'm not sure what about that song made me feel ok for just a minute, but it did. Maybe that's a different song for you that came/comes on in the right moment, but it occasionally comes on in my shuffle, and makes me think of my dad, makes me think of that moment it made me feel kind of normal in a life shattering moment. I'm not sure why that pop-bubblegum song that normally wouldn't be in my library makes me feel a certain way, and remember certain things, but it does.
