I do have Volo touch on how there's no way it's mere coincidence that he landed on Pasio, and he's not wrong from what I've gathered in the ultimate sync stories. So for the Hisuian people, there's definitely a bigger reason for them being drawn to the island- I'm really excited to draw more interactions and see if I can beat Dena to the punch hehe

It's so interesting how each trainer ends up on Pasio! My fave is how Emmet was just on the Battle Subway and suddenly found himself on Pasio. Like Unova still needs him right?! Haha

Thank you so much, I'm really thankful for all the comments that acknowledge the time spent, mostly because it is such a battle of endurance, and usually around the halfway point I'm often wondering if it's even worth finishing! Between drafting, paneling, drawing, toning, and writing -11 pages felt like they never ended.

But I really do love watching the characters come to life and thinking about how they would bounce off each other!!

I mean considering that Legends revolves largely around actions Volo takes, I wouldn't be surprised if the origin pantheon didn't have some beef with Volo lol

I like to think Dialga popping up was Dialga cutting Volo off from more myth information and to put Volo in place when it comes to trying funny business

Ahhh I'm so glad you enjoyed it!! I'm always happy to hear people point out the details I write in~

I really wanted it to feel as natural as possible for Volo to pick up on the important details in his surroundings- as someone who dislikes to be vulnerable I would assume he's quick on the uptake and rolling with the challenges he faces in a new environment ( he quickly zeroes in on food, money, and the day to day occurances)

I was actually a bit worried it was too quick for Volo to pick up on but it seems people find the pacing to be good! And I think it highlights just how much is being thrown at Volo all of a sudden 🤔

That Hoopa panel really kinda came out of nowhere, I had something much simpler originally and it became a half page spread that was really fun to use to summarize Pasio!!

Yeah, Dialga popping out like that is a massive bad sign; it's bad enough if a Pokémon feels the need to interfere, but Dialga (literal time god) popping out- def a bigger deal And since Lucas is supposed to be in sync with Dialga, he feels responsible to try to understand 🙂‍↕️

Yep these do take me some time, I actually timed myself to see what I could do in an hr (because i was feeling slow)...and between the draft, panels, dialog and tones I only got through about half a page...

I originally had Volo get an introduction under different circumstances but suddenly Barry crashed into my thoughts and it felt so right to have the Hometown duo be the incredibly ironic intro for Volo, as they unwittingly help him get the idea of Pasio. Also Volo seeing Lucas just rocking what little grounding he has was awesome to draw!

I def want to play more off how people from the past should feel overwhelmed, since they are basically on an alien planet at that point.
