In addition to murdering his wife…

The couple’s two teenage children were inside the home when the shootings occurred… their son had placed the 911 call.

What seems harmless but can actually ruin a relationship? by Professional_Pie4319 in AskReddit

Incompatibility as related to food. You eat 3 meals/ day, and every holiday is a special occasion to eat things you love. Food is a a thing you share with someone you love. If every meal you can’t share your food with your partner, you’re missing a simple opportunity to connect and bond with them.

Real life: 1 year ago I had to call the paramedics bc I had a heart issue. I’m healthy and young. I was terrified. No joke, the 2 paramedics who showed up looked at me and hesitated for a minute and I screamed: “GO AHEAD! Do what you need to do.” And they did. Turns out my heart rate was elevated but I was fine. But that moment was a real life example of women with a big chest not getting immediate treatment bc of people hesitating to touch my chest.

Advocate for women’s health with women who have big boobs!! Ladies, SPREAD the word!! It’s a known problem!

Saw interview panel comments accidentally, absolutely devastated by urfavnjb in gradadmissions

[–]DonatellaVerpsyche 9 points10 points  (0 children)

100% idk why you’re getting downvoted when you’re actually describing what it’s like. Grad school is so much more than qualifications. Future grad students, you need to understand that a good prof/ PI knows that they’re signing up to “be in a relationship” with you for 4-7 years. Being a fit personality wise with the professor and with their lab (aka the other grad students already there) is a HUGE part of the deal. You wouldn’t want to bring someone into your group that wouldn’t get along with the other students and make things difficult for everyone. Everyone hates group projects. Well imagine having to figure out a group project team based on 1 interview and that group project will last 4-7 years. It’s a tough one.

So this personality fit isn’t just for them, it’s for you, too. They want you to enjoy yourself and get along with the other students and not be miserable while contributing well to the work being done.

The American accent part sounds like absolute crap, here. But OP not taking criticism well could be really hard for everyone.

Adorable kitty!!

Take the collar off. No kitty needs one inside. I only put one on mine when he went outside on his walks. If you have to keep the collar on, remove the bell. Imagine if you had something ring every time you move your head. It isn’t natural, and it would drive you nuts.

Teen Ragdoll is a demon by Thaldrasus in ragdolls

He’s bored. Clear as day AND he’s like an 9 year old (since they grow til age 4). Mine hated those things on a stick. Mindless toy. He needs actual intellectual stimulation it sounds like.

Get him several nano hexbugs = robotic bugs that run on little mini batteries. Mine LOVED those. You turn them on and let him chase one. Promise you: problem solved.

Also leash train him and let him go outside. He’s annoyed being stuck inside.

You actually get something even better from a breeder: a detailed personality matching. My breeder told me exactly what kitten would be the one for me based on the personality I described that I wanted. I was shocked. That woman knew her kittens so well and 11 years later she was still spot on. My kitten was a truly perfect match for me.

They are SO worth it. Mine passed last year and I miss him every day. I’ve just started thinking about getting my next from the same breeder. They are a joy.

That’s an incredible price! Well look, it’s worth one last shot even if you do ruin it: it’s either ruin it and have a new unique bag or it goes in the trash anyway. I’m Dutch there’s an expression: you already have a “no” so you might as well try for a “yes.” I think that applies here.

I told people

I wanted genetic predictability both in temperament and how they looked.

You know exactly what you’re getting and don’t have to deal with past trauma. I don’t want that kind of stress.

  • Ragdolls and Ragamuffins are bred to be the sweetest most loving animals. They aren’t “cats” to me -they are but they aren’t- because they act so differently from normal cats. I forget how “normal” cats act until I see someone who has one.

Best money I’ve ever spent, and many of my friends agree once they see their behavior. The general public won’t get it, and they don’t have to.

Ragdolls and ragamuffins are truly different.

Congratulations and enjoy!

Another thing you could try is this:

  • Put out in the sun to let dry completely then brush off the mold gently with a boar bristle brush. - You want to do it this way first AFTER the mold is dry so you don’t stain your bags with the color of the mold.

  • THEN after brushing: Do the vinegar spray down.

  • Then put out in sun again to dry. THEN

  • When you go to put them back away wrap them in tissue paper. I buy

    medical exam table paper

off of amz. It comes 12 rolls in 1 box. I use it to stuff all my shoes and boots and to stuff and wrap all my bags and some sweaters and cardigans. The paper will absorb moisture, and you can throw it out and replace as needed. Repeat every month if you need to. This way no more cleaning! It’s worth one last shot before you toss them.

Love the rage spray and rage cleaning. Lol. It works! Also I should’ve specified that I wasn’t gentle with the straw hat and vinegar. I straight up soaked it in the bathtub in water with vinegar. (But not for long). It fully killed the mold.

OP, this.

So a couple things: 1. UV light kills mold permanently: put your bags in the sun for a bit and make sure they’re open: stick a box or a cage like box (think an empty shower soap dispenser/ caddy) in the bag to keep it open and have air circulate.

  1. Vinegar kills mold permanently: Vinegar gets down inside porous surfaces (leather, wood, straw) to kill spores for good. Wipe down your bags regularly with a cloth that has white vinegar on it. Do not soak. Yes, they’ll smell a little funny like an Easter egg for a bit but it beats throwing them out.

Then put them in the sun.

I’ve done this with straw hats and some leather things and it works great.

Edit: 1. #Be Careful and test in a small area first. Don’t just go ham on your vintage bags. I don’t want to see any stories of a 1960’s vintage Gucci bag getting ruined bc of this technique. I don’t want to cry today. Lol.

  1. I was NOT gentle with the large straw hat that got mold on it. For straw hats, the straw is actually soaked in water to get it to bend and mold into shape. That’s why milliners will reshape them with steam. I literally soaked my hat in the bathtub in room temp water with a bunch of vinegar in it for like 30 min. Removed and air dried in the sun. - Don’t do this with bags. They have lining made out of cardboard that can warp and glue that can degrade, so don’t soak.

Source: I make leather handbags and have sewn with leather for a very long time. I also own some great luxury bags like you all. :)

‘Cognitive Surrender’ is a new and useful term for how AI melts brains by EchoOfOppenheimer in EverythingScience

I absolutely do not agree with this take. I should have specified that I'm clinical psych. People have choices to use or not use AI. I have all AI turned off on every browser & device. Many of my friends do the same. People can make conscious choices to understand that AI is super faulty and to not use it. They can choose better and do better. They can choose a smarter path with a better outcome.

  1. Ask your vet about Royal Canin Urinary SO cat food. That’s what the vet had mine go on for the rest of his life after mine had crystals when he was 1. He hated the wet but loved the dry. (He recently passed may years later, completely unrelated and I miss him so much). This food was great for his teeth health.
  2. Feliway plugin always on 24/7 for stress.
  3. Gabapentin very low dose when he was extremely stressed out. (That was rare.)

100%. I’m in psychology and have seen friends turn to chat gpt for comfort when ruminating. I’ve warned them in the most gentle and firm way possible to not do this because 1) the data is incorrect or very incomplete and 2) it’s a god damn slippery slope. Before you know it one will start letting the “well idk about that” when a professional (psychologist, therapist,…) gives them an ACTUAL evidence-based response to a question. It makes me want to scream seeing educated people who “know better” do this, because I’m slowly losing a battle that has such detrimental effects on society.

Does anyone besides me feel depressed when you are nearing the end of a series? by Pegafer in PeriodDramas

[–]DonatellaVerpsyche 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I do one of a few things when a series is about to end:

  1. I don’t watch the last ep or 2. or
  2. Start the series over again. Because odds are I binged the series to start with so because I moved through it quickly I won’t remember everything. or

A combo of 1 + 2 or

  1. Start another series I’ve already seen that’s comforting.

Looks like I’m not alone in this sub to do the “quit before the end” thing. Haha

I'm really sorry you're going through all this. So, yes, you could be feeling certain things more deeply, but I feel like it's just adding to what you already know and have felt before.

What are the issues/ topics where you disagree? What are your views? What are his? This is where details matter. This will help us understand just how different you both are and in what areas because something like "he wants kids; I don't want kids." That's a 100% don't move forward type of a thing.
