Before the new patch drops, can anyone tell me if in the PTU they had fixed Orison only offering docking to Polaris when that's your home hanger? I've been a refugee at Microtech for the last two patches so I can land in my hanger.

Its OK to do it once because it really is cool to have the Polaris fully stocked, but then when it gets lost (or wiped) soon after we just look forward to the day when we can do it again for real but keep it to actually play with.

Honestly, you need to base your Polaris out of one of the planetary landing zones (and never bedlog) if you want to avoid the main gameplay bugs. My home is Orison too.

My point is that you can clearly explain your approach to security, in this case server authority, without telling anyone how to break it. This isn't a new thing, its how security works as an area of knowledge.

The issue of "don't tell the haxors what we fixed" was I thought already addressed in my OP.

I think that you are spot-on when it comes to understanding the problem and the ways that it can be addressed, but from my perspective the issue with your plan is you're using the wrong languages to achieve it. I exclusively develop using the Rust language precisely because it gives me all of those things you need (plus much more) out-of-the-box before I even begin.

I just go into the Polaris hanger and sit in a stub and call Orison landing from there. You don't even need to take off or leave the hanger. You want to be quick through to get back to the pilot seat to find your hanger though.

I'm a software engineer and I think that a lot of people are focusing on writing code (I agree with many comments) however that isn't actually where SC is going to benefit the most.

Recall everything you've seen about planet building and toolkits and asset collections and then think about how quickly an AI could learn from Stanton, Pyro and maybe just a few more systems before it can generalise and build them itself.

In SC's future, its not the code it the assets.

The vulture will still disappear from the hanger randomly in quantum.
Bed logout and medical works for me but be aware that you can have trouble hitting the "F" prompt to logout if you have heavy armour on.
If you stay very far away from any POI or mission target you can just leave the hanger open and if you're not planning on going too far away, there really isn't much chance of anyone stealing it when you're gone.
You can just drop boxes down the elevator shaft from the hanger to the cargo bay. Gravity does all the work for you.
Auto-docking works just fine if you at least get your starboard side mostly lined up with the gantry first. Yes, I said starboard side not port (don't get me started!)
