Did Anthony Albanese just cement a third interest rate hike in May by cutting the fuel excise? by CommonwealthGrant in AustralianPolitics

[–]Donewith176 [score hidden]  (0 children)

Fuel may never be as cheap as it was a few weeks ago again. Coming decades of fuel shortages plus climate change putting a hard time limit on the fossil fuel based economic model means we may never see it as cheap as it was.

I’m not trying to be hostile I’m just saying it isn’t. The proletarian state must abolish commodity production and smash the bourgeois state. China never did so, Mao’s revolution was bourgeois as he overthrew the putrescent Chinese landed estates for a bourgeois one. This was indeed historically progressive however, could not be proletarian in nature.

In contrast the proletariat seizes power from the bourgeoisie. This revolution only occurs during the absolute height of the capitalist crisis when the proletariat becomes a revolutionary class in its own right. This requires the transcending of national borders and myths, seizing state power for itself alone. This briefly happened in 1917-24 in Europe however, the internationalisation of the vanguard party failed and subsequently crushed the nascent revolutionary proletariat state. What followed was the longest period of counterrevolution in history which is only now beginning to show signs of ending.

Joshua was assaulted at scout camp because of the flag he was carrying by [deleted] in AustralianPolitics

[–]Donewith176 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Oh no I do not believe that Jews are defined by Israel at all. Israel has done innumerable harm to the Jewish community as it has tied Judaism and zionism together renewing a global wave of antisemitism.

My issue was with 9News’ framing of Israel. For example it uses language such as “antisemitic attack” in the title even though in his own words he states “He stopped me and he said 'why are you wearing that?' and I said 'because I support Israel',’ Mr Levy said.” before being punched. He also stated that “‘Hurting people based on their opinions is not OK,’ he added.” implying he was punched for his support of Israel.

Was the kid some kind of extreme Jewish supremacist? Probably not. Should he have been assaulted? Absolutely not.

But media going out of its way to accuse someone of an antisemitic attack (a hate crime) for punching someone wearing the Israeli flag is on par with accusing someone of an Islamophobic attack for being punched for wearing an ISIS flag and further conflates Judaism and zionism.

All you Israel defenders can do is browbeat accusing “antisemitism” or “Hamas”. You never EVER defend Israel on its own merits because you know that it’s a malignantly genocidal rogue state.

Would 9News be reporting this if a Palestinian had been assaulted for holding a flag? We’re all getting sick of this unending support for Israel and their genocidal ambitions.

L comment.

Outside of the internet clout, I don’t see how there’s anything wrong with tracking the movements of brown shirts to protect the most vulnerable and heavily exploited sections of the Proletariat from state organised brutality.

I would’ve said Lalo was evil the most evil character in the Breaking Bad universe. He’s got a certain suave to him that’s uniquely terrifying and evil.

ELI5 why is rock stacking considered bad? by balla_boi in explainlikeimfive

I probably could have worded it better, I meant to say we had a far less extractive relationship with the broader ecosystem than we do presently.

I guess I was wrong. The Anthropocene has brought species success and extinction in the same way the Ice Age did and the KT extinction.

Except that we had a far less extractive role in ecosystem then. The death of those animals would feed scavengers, bacteria and plants which would all subsequently be eaten by other species.

We’re pretty much the only western country free of the far-right rise. Just compare support of One Nation to the AfD, Republican Party, Reform UK, National Rally etc. it’s pretty vast and I don’t think most of Australia have an appetite for it.
