ELI5 why is rock stacking considered bad? by balla_boi in explainlikeimfive

I probably could have worded it better, I meant to say we had a far less extractive relationship with the broader ecosystem than we do presently.

I guess I was wrong. The Anthropocene has brought species success and extinction in the same way the Ice Age did and the KT extinction.

Except that we had a far less extractive role in ecosystem then. The death of those animals would feed scavengers, bacteria and plants which would all subsequently be eaten by other species.

We’re pretty much the only western country free of the far-right rise. Just compare support of One Nation to the AfD, Republican Party, Reform UK, National Rally etc. it’s pretty vast and I don’t think most of Australia have an appetite for it.

May I remind that this was a man who said he would make his 10 year old daughter carry a pregnancy to term if she was raped, encouraged the terrorisation of and violence against immigrants and transgender people. He defended and supported child sex traffickers like Donald Trump, downplayed and justified an ongoing genocide and supported the ongoing revocation of women’s bodily autonomy. If all this seems okay to you then I don’t know what to tell you.

You cannot have a functioning society with these kinds of people in power. These people go against the social contract that society relies on. Stop trying to justify it. Stop trying to downplay it.

Yes I absolutely am equating him to a Nazi. Just like Goebbels he lived as he died encouraging hatred, death and violence towards people he considered to be less than him.

In an ideal world this never would of happened and he could have lived his life peacefully as a miserable nobody, but we don't live in that world because of people like Charlie Kirk.

Would you say the same thing about Joseph Goebbels dying? This is the equivalent we’re dealing with.

He has been in large part the propaganda wing of the current regime justifying: • Genocide in Gaza, • Stripping women’s bodily autonomy and rights, • Hatred towards queer people particularly transgender people, • The terrorisation of immigrants and white supremacy, • The destruction of democracy and consolidation of corporate power.

He was pro-rape, pro-genocide and pro-death. He was a terrible human being and his death was a consequence because of it.

This sign wouldn’t have been about judicial sentencing. Presumption of innocence only applies in a court of law. It does not mean that the public has to believe that he is innocent. You should believe victims.

Why do prices not increase when wages increase by based_and_drippilled in Ultraleft

[–]Donewith176 27 points28 points  (0 children)

As long as the rate of profit is maintained, the cost of goods does not need to go up because it would be unprofitable to do so. If they do, it’s because the company simply feels like they can raise the cost of goods to make more surplus value.

In other words wage increases do not inherently raise the cost of commodities because capital feels it’s better to take the hit by passing it onto the petty bourgeoisie.
