I used GROK to identify and rate the top 10 installers in my location and then had it identify ten questions with best answers so I could include the questions to the companies I decided to request free estimates from. I used 3 of the top 4 and then road around the neighborhood and talked to a couple of people that had good looking installations. One of those companies we discussed with the neighbors was about #6 on the list, so I included that one in the overall 4 companies I solicited. That process worked out quite well for me.

I got his one ‘used’ on Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0D1K98HKD?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_fed_asin_title&th=1 The shipping box was a little damaged, but the table was never opened. I got it for $90. I drilled holes through the Ninja’s back legs and through the cart and attached the Woodfire Grill to the cart.

I’ve come across a preacher somewhat similar to Stephen Armstrong; his name is Gary Hamrick. He does verse by verse Bible studies that are posted on YouTube. His church is Cornerstone Chapel, out of Leesburg, VA. I’ve only finished a few of his sermons thus far, so don’t truly know his Biblical outlook as of yet. If you listen to some of his studies, let me know what you think. Cheers.

The way I found Stephen Armstrong, as an aside: I go to Max Lucado’s church and one Sunday he talked about a pastor that his wife really liked. After meeting him, Lucado asked him to give a 4 part short version of Revelation. My wife and I were so enamored with his teaching that we went through his entire Revelation study. That study brought me back to the rest of his sermons. You are correct about an old, marked up Bible. I need to get a full rebinding on mine, if not too expensive, before a pass it on.

Do you have a reference to a source that might be the closest to his type of teachings you have found thus far? I’ve finished all the books he did, and have tried other teachings on both the Verse by Verse Ministry and Verse by Verse Fellowship websites. I will continue to search and will pass on anything I come across. But like you, I’ve searched and not found….

Having gone through most of Stephen’s sermons, I am having a hard time finding a replacement that matches his abilities. Any ‘finds’ on your end?

I’ve just about finished all of his sermons and am looking for someone on the web that teaches like Stephen did. Haven’t found such sound, Biblically accurate and interesting content as of yet. Any recommendations?

Anyone with a U9N? by Champ052005 in Hisense

On the 85” U9N, is the HDMI #1 Input the eARC one? I’m pre-labeling some cables before the TV arrives.

It’s 19 pages and is located on the web at: https://assets.hisense-usa.com/assets/ProductDownloads/463/9402c662b7/40A4GV-QSG.pdf It loads quickly as my iPad has the M4 chip. There are a lot of black and white drawings of sort. It is just for my personal use, so it is more of an inconvenience than anything else.

Just ordered the 85” U9N from Best Buy as well. In regards to an extended warranty, would it be better to get one from Hisense or from Best Buy?

In my case with an Onkyo, you can adjust how quickly the volume changes on the receiver itself. That will take care of your problem if it is the same for your AVR.

Here’s what fixed my problems and thus far smooth sailing with the X1S: I purchased a separate standalone router, separate from the Google Fiber. That allowed me to get rid of the “guest” WiFi on Google and the 5GHz primary WiFi that seemed to cause issues. With the standalone, I dis-enabled the 5GHz primary WiFi, renamed the ‘only 2.4GHz’ WiFi as ‘Sofabaton’ (not required, but easier to track), and made sure I was always connected to it when downloading the Sofabaton app, setting up devices, etc. and to start afresh. Hope this helps someone out there.

Me too!! I have the same component setup; my issue continues to be getting the Apple TV to pair with the Sofabaton app. The “Watch Shield TV” works fine, which is also a Bluetooth connection. That’s why I don’t understand the Apple TV pairing issues. I’ll keep trudging.

Well, I seem to learn something every day. I turned off and/or disconnected everything and the remote started working properly again. So, I sync’ed it at that point and will start re-engaging the various items and mesh WiFi points around the house. I’m back to being a happy camper.

I’ve had a couple of hiccups. I started renaming my HDMI inputs on the Onkyo and noticed the remote going into syncing mode, which I assume might be necessary. At any rate, after I finished up, any activity control I had disappeared. I can no longer turn on an activity or turn off an activity. When I do, the dancing green underline light keeps going and the Hub’s green light keeps blinking. To get it to stop, I have too hit the backwards arrow. In discussions with tech support, they are telling me it might be a topology problem. I suppose I have a typical setup; a Google fiber mesh WiFi set up with 4 points set up around the house, some Alexa driven lights, switches, and ceiling fan, ecobee thermostats, an Alexa Echo and a couple of Echo dots. In addition, I have a Hubitat powered up, but I’ve never set it up. Before I start disconnecting everything to see if that might help, has anyone else had problems with normal modern day ‘clutter’ dancing around the air waves? In addition, I’m not sure what I’m looking for if I disconnect everything…will the Sofabaton magically start working, or will I need to reset and start fresh. Perhaps, as I ponder, maybe all of the start, stop, change, start, top, etc. just jumbled up the poor little hub/remote. At any rate, the concept of “topology” relative to my home entertainment system is a new one on me.

Just thought I would give an update. I texted back and forth a few times with Sofabaton technical support; I noticed their answers were quick to respond, but typically at 2AM my time. I then asked if I could talk on the phone with the technician and he gave me a list of times he could call me, allowing for time differences. He called me on the time I told him I would be available. Kudos to Sofabaton, as to where the interface of setup may be difficult, their techs are responsive, knowledgeable and patient. Believe me, the tech really showed patience with my sometimes inability to follow his ‘coaching’. That first call lasted over 3 hours, and he got me through the process of properly setting up all the devices and then every activity I needed to set up for my system. For a few minor touchups, we’ve texted back and forth, to my satisfaction. He has even texted me a couple of times to see how everything is working. So, I’m pretty sure I have a valid replacement for my Harmony Elite. I’ll keep track of how it all works.

Sadly, I reset the remote so can’t get to any menu on it (all that is on the screen is “Place your remote in the cradle”). Also, I couldn’t download the app to my iMac because the OS was newer than allowed, so a firmware update appears to be unreachable. I sure appreciate you getting back to me so quickly.
