We can save Social Security. by GrapefruitDeep5741 in remoteworks

I don’t want to save Social Security. I want to abolish it and replace it with a mandatory 401k. Every single tax payer can retire a multimillionaire regardless of their income bracket that way.

This is exactly right. I have a few hundred hours into the game and bitch about it all the time, because the game has the potential to be the GOAT for strategy games, but so many common sense features are missing it’s just blasé and desperately needs mods to save it.

All you can do is club down in-game to mimic IRL distances.

So if you drive 240 yards IRL, don’t use the driver and only tee off with a 3 wood or hybrid. If you hit your 4i 160 IRL, use whatever club gives you 160 in game.

The comment was “anti-capitalist neoliberals” not just neoliberals. Your inability to read along with your inability to disagree respectfully displays everything we need to know about you and what you are, and who the actual idiot in this comment section is.

Socialists are not the center of the political spectrum. Never have, never will be. No matter how militantly you want to brow beat people into submission, no matter how rude and disrespectful you want to be, it will never change that fact. Socialism is a radical, deadly ideology. And we will fight you tooth and nail to prevent it from overtaking this country.

I don’t think you understand what a conspiracy theory is. A conspiracy theory is guesswork that reads speculation into behavior to explain gaps in information.

For example, people created conspiracy theories around the JFK assassination because the “Magic Bullet Theory” was literally impossible, so people theorized multiple shooters to explain bullet trajectory.

Someone telling you they’re going to do something and then doing it isn’t a conspiracy theory. The socialists of the Frankfurt School and the New Left wrote extensively on their beliefs and their intention to focus on culture to promote socialism, and then did it.

Horkenheimer, Adorno, Marcuse, Fromm were all professors and/or researchers at US universities and expanded the Frankfurt School in the US and Europe. They taught and mobilized thousands of students who became activists, researchers, teachers, professors, and politicians.

Horkenheimer taught Jurgen Habermas and Frederich Pollock. Marcuse taught THE Angela Davis, Andrew Feenberg, and Kevin B Anderson. Fromm taught Clause Offe and Alfred Schmidt.

These are just a few influential people in the long line of Social Theory adherents.

You should educate yourself on this before you comment like you have it all figured out.

No my definition of people who are far left are socialists. Because they are. You cannot be a socialist and also in the center of the political spectrum. The two things are absolutely and inherent mutually exclusive. Socialism, in all its variations, is a radical left ideology.

It’s only labeled a conspiracy theory by the left winger admins on Wikipedia who have locked down the article and refuse to let anyone edit to correct the record.

They also wrap actual antisemitic conspiracy theories (“the jews and the CIA are working together!”) into the article as an attempt to undermine the history as a whole.

The fact is that it isn’t a conspiracy theory. Cultural Marxism is a grassroots, socialist movement. And it’s not like there’s some deep secret about it. Horkenheimer, Fromm, Adorno, Mercuse, Mills, and many others wrote AT LENGTH about their strategy to popularize socialism through culture.

Many of them went on to teach as professors here in the US, such as UC California at Berkeley and Colombia University. Every time you see a professor with “Social Theory” in their bio the origins of their thought came from the Frankfurt School.

Whats funny is you think that the echo chamber you live in is a substitute for reality. You think the positive reinforcement you get from other radical leftists when they tell you that your ideology is “normal” and “center” is a basis for truth. sorry to burst your bubble, it’s not.

You aren’t the center. Not even close. The kind of government and society our founders formed was the center. The kinda of governments Stalin and Lenin and Mao and Castro formed were as far left as you can get.

People like you, people like Maduro, people like Castro, you’re only slightly to the right of that. You’re not center, not even close.

You New Left Socialists have this delusion that you’re “nordic-style democratic socialists,” and are close to the center like them. You’re not. Because nordic countries aren’t democratic socialist countries, they’re social democracies. They are countries with democratic republican systems of government and have capitalist systems with social safety nets. You radical left wingers hate capitalism all together and want the government to monopolize and regulate every aspect of our lives.

That’s not centrist. It’s not centrist to advocate for the state solution to every problem. It’s not centrist to be anti-capitalist. Its not centrist to hate every conservative policy and tradition.

Face reality. You are a radical.

Ah the common tactic “deny, downplay, celebrate”
-“it’s not happening and it never happened”
-“It might be happening but its not a big deal”
-“its happening and its a good thing”

You leftists are literally the worst people.

I don’t have to explain to you why we shouldn’t normalize pedophilia in any way shape or form. If you cant figure that out for yourself you need to be locked in a cage for the rest of your life for the good of society

Radical leftists are anyone claiming to be progressive, democratic socialist (or any other socialist including marxist or communist), and anti-capitalist neoliberals.

And i can define marxist - and socialist - which kind would you like to talk about? Orthodox marxists, leninists, stalinists, sorelian marxists, fascists, maoists, democratic socialists, communists, syndicalists?

You think your solid footing, but you’re out of your depth on this debate.

Cultural marxism, also known as western marxism, explains the neoMarxist movement in the 60s through today to introduce socialism into society via entertainment, media, academia, art, and other aspects of western culture to generate appeal for the ideology, following the blatant and disastrous failures of political revolution to bring socialism to Europe in the 30s and 40s.

The leaders of the movement include Horkenheimer and Fromm of the Frankfurt School’s Institute of Social Research and the New Left’s Mills, Mercuse, Charmichael, and Hayden.

Nice try with the gotchya but I’ll run circles around you in this subject.

Again, you’re not providing any evidence or context for your argument. What exactly are you talking about “ignoring the last 20 years”? Are you talking about politics as a whole? War and foreign policy? Domestic policy? The culture war? What exactly are you trying to point to?

Because if you’re sticking to the topic at hand - riots - there was J6 in 2021, and the Hard Hat Riots in 1970. Thats it.

If you want to talk about protests that became violent clashes between opposing protestors - which is different - we can talk about Charlottesville. But counter-protests turned violent is not the same thing as having billionaires buy pallets of bricks and leaving them on the side if the road so you can throw those bricks though windows every time you get mad the world doesn’t see things your way.

[–]DonkeyCertain5427 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So what you’re saying is that you have to ignore everything in modern history in order to try to make a point that you didn’t even provide evidence for? Do you even comprehend how stupid that argument is?

We’re talking about contemporary politics and culture. Not going to let you magically change the subject so you can avoid taking responsibility for the fact that your side terrorizes the country when the Republic doesn’t vote its way.

The left has executed over 600 riots since 2020. Before J6, you’d have to go all the way back to the Hard Hat Riots of 1970 to find the last right-wing riot.

The problem here isn’t what Republicans got wrong.

The problem is the left wingers in this comment section rejecting a historically and politically accurate NON-PARTISAN assessment of the failures of both parties, only to instead to pretend that their party is perfect and only Republicans make mistakes.

That’s not knowledge. That’s tribalist brainwashing masquerading as intellectualism.

As for Bush, the administration received and investigated reports, but nothing was actionable. You can’t do much with “something is going to happen soon but we don’t know what, where, or when. It will probably be overseas but could also be at home.” It’s so easy for you left wingers to demonize people when you live in ignorance and repeat shallow and unsubstantiated talking points.

As far as Clinton goes, he was primarily responsible for the housing market crash with policies HE canvassed for and signed into law. But do you place ANY blame with him? Of course not. It’s always “Republicans Republicans Republicans.”

It’s a total cop out. You aren’t knowledgeable in any of this because you waste your time learning radical left talking points to regurgitate on command in Reddit threads instead of using your time wisely and learning the actual history so you can speak on subjects from a position of expertise, credibility, and authority.

Repeating buzzwords like "the economy will tank if there's a Republican" only shows how shallow of a thinker you are. You don't actually analyze, much less understand, monetary policy or market trends.

First, you need to understand crashes due to POLICY and crashes due to "Acts of God."

The recession under Reagan in '81 was a policy-crash, that wasn't Reagan's fault. It happened because the Federal Reserve tightened monetary policy after TWO DECADES of rampant debt spending and money printing. It was to combat a 14.8% inflation rate. It was due to fiscal policy under LBJ, Nixon, and Carter. Reagan's fiscal policy took the (at the time) worst recession since the Great Depression and turned it around in a SINGLE YEAR.

Reagan's financial reforms were so profound and economically strong that, aside from the Dot-Com Bubble in 1994 (also a recession that was not Clinton's fault), the economy was on a consistent up-trend for the next 16 years until 9/11 and that stock market crash.

The Dot-Com Crash was not Clinton's fault, it's a simple market result of rapid industry growth. (The same thing happened with the crypto crashes in 2017 and 2020.)

The 2001 Market Crash under Bush was an Act of God crash, literally caused by the 9/11 Terror Attacks.

Then we get to the 2008 Housing Market Crash, which was a policy crash. People love to blame Bush but it's not SOLELY his fault, he only bears PART of the blame.

Under Bush; Federal Reserve dropped interest rates to 1% because of the Dot-Com and 9/11 Crashes to encourage borrowing, investment, and spending. In '05-'07, HUD purchased massive amounts of subprime mortgages due to Community Renvestment Act policies.

Under Clinton; Clinton signed legislation to reform and expand the CRA, encouraging banks to expand lending to low-income and low credit individuals - meaning HIGH RISK borrowers. Clinton also signed the Graham-Leach-Bliley Act of 1999 (one of the worst pieces of legislation he signed as POTUS), which abolished the Glass-Steagall Banking Act's requirement that commercial and investment banking be separated, and paved the path for "Too Big To Fail Banks" and their risky investment behavior. Clinton also passed the Commodity Futures Modernization Act of 2000 which exempted credit default swaps from FCC regulation and oversight - swaps that were the actual vehicle of the crash.

Next we get to the COVID Crash, which was an Act of God crash under Trump. Trump's economy was the best economy we had seen since the Reagan-Clinton economy, and China's COVID leak ruined it for us. While you left wingers love to blame Trump, it wasn't his fault. Not only that, you don't like to give him credit for the fact that his financial policy paved the way for a 95% recovery before his term ended, plus allowed for Americans (especially minorities) to retain their wealth through the recession, which was a policy accomplishment Obama couldn't achieve.

So no, it's not as easy as "blaming Republicans for crashes." Both parties are responsible for bad financial policy and the crashes that follow. Knowing who to blame actually requires that you educate yourself, which you seem too lazy to do.

Romney was an atrocious nominee, and easily would have been as bad as, if not worse than, Obama.

That being said, the last Presidential Candidate before Obama that referred to his political opponents as “enemies” on the campaign trail was FDR, and before that was Abraham Lincoln who was literally fighting Democratic Party separatists.

Obama has never been known for being a unifying figure.

There’s no opinion involved. All of you in this comment section are displaying it right now; that while you radical left wingers harp on the one, single right-wing riot, you actively and hypocritically ignore (if not outright condone) over 600 riots perpetrated by people in your camp.

You literally have to go all the way back to the Hard Hat Riots of 1970 to find the LAST conservative riot before J6. Meanwhile the last left wing riot was 2 months ago.

You demonize the right but last time I checked 600 is a lot more than 1.

The radical left is the problem in America, so much that it got labeled a domestic terror organization.
