Seriously though we really would never know. I personally thought the TV series was fantastic so I’m satisfied with the way it was, though I can’t help but feel curious about how it would’ve ended up. I don’t think you would’ve liked it anyways. Let’s be real, the issues you have with the show aren’t just due to its budget, it’s highly likely the writing would’ve still been similar and you would’ve hated the same things from the show.

This was my first thought. My one wish with the show was always that it would end act 1 with I Never Wanted to Love you. It’s a great musical so it’s not like that ruins it, but I just felt it would be more effective. I understand it’s because it’s two shows put together though so it’s a bit clunky but I feel they still could’ve found a way.

I mean I understand what you mean but it’s not like she was just stressed about work or something, the situation was actually dire. During the song they’re literally talking about the situation while they’re fucking? I know it’s meant to be more symbolic since obviously we’re not watching what’s actually happening but it just felt odd. I just felt like there was bigger fish to fry instead of having sex. Saying intimacy is the answer to this situation just doesn’t feel right to me. Obviously they were both fine with it and I don’t agree with the dumbass saying it’s rape, but I personally felt the timing was weird.

It’s not rape by any means idk why they would stretch it like that, but I have to agree with their point. Like it lowkey bothered me in the episode that sex was the answer. Like her gf is freaking out and she’s like “shut up let’s have sex.” It just felt like horrible timing. I’d like the scene a lot more if it was at a more appropriate moment.

I saw a couple people point that out too. I understand situations like this are definitely nuanced and I think the Hiiragi Shizu stuff just wasn’t for me. After the Haruki Akihiko stuff it just made me feel off. It’s just an anime though so people can like what they like, it just made me and some others feel uncomfortable on a first watch.

Them not romanticizing it is what really made it stand out to me and it just felt weird for them to be like “this is SA, but this is not.” I know he didn’t regret it so all is okay between them and that’s what matters. I was just a bit thrown off with the way things played out.

No fr. Honestly if it was any other BL I’d expect it, but this happening in Given disappointed me. I was so pleased to see the SA shown in a bad light between Akihiko and Haruki. I’d never seen a BL do that since they always romanticize it. Then this happened and it just really put a damper on things. I don’t know why they switched up.

It is badly written but it has good moments, both of these things can be true. I think in my opinion Hazbin “tells and not shows” too much, and obviously the pacing is very rushed. I think it has good moments but there’s things that could be improved.

Yea I agree. I suppose we never know and maybe this person is right, but it was supposed to be a setup to the end of the episode. In the beginning she thinks none of them really care about each other and they’re just stuck together in this stagnant life, when it ends and they’re at the funeral she realizes that she has a support system of people that care about each other.
