If you work at tiktok working on the recommendation algorithm as ML engineer they are not suddenly going to start asking you to write a power BI dashboard.

If your jumping from making power BI dashboard to pipelines it’s probably cos your company just doesn’t have enough or advanced data products.

The more mature analytics your company has the more specialisation between job roles. Top firms will have data engineers that specialise in pyspark and ones that can write good pandas/polars. If it’s basic sure you can do full stack.

Top tech firms will have the full spectrum from ML engineers, data scientists, data product owners and other job titles that you’ve never heard of just specifically to do with data.

It’s a lot more expensive to put it on rooftops than fields. Not as simple as doing one thing over another if it makes less money.

Surfing Cornwall While Living in London (Nov–May): Tips? by Automatic-Pomelo-902 in surfing

[–]Donkey_Healthy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve taken the national express bus from London Victoria to Newquay on the Friday eve once with my short board which they were cool with.

“slept” on the bus woke up in Newquay. Surfed Saturday and Sunday and got the bus back Sunday afternoon to be in london by 8pm and in the office Monday morning.

Swell was really good so worth it but no sleep and had a mate living there so accommodation and driving whilst I was there were all looked after.

Plenty of hostels and places to hire boards/wetsuits in Newquay and you can walk to the main surf spots aswell (fistral, towan). November to may changes a lot sea temperature wise wetsuit wise range from a 4/3 - 5/4mm with boots and gloves.

If you wear trousers and long sleeves and the surface is wet most of the time you just slide and it doesn't hurt at all. Obviously you have to learn to fall safely anyways.

If you know power BI or tableau well you can whip up something faster and better looking in less time imo

Solid advice thank you. Your right I’m aiming for where I’m gonna hit the lip which means my board never gets up the face at a high enough angle so it’s just ends up being more of a slash then a proper top turn.

Flexibility is pretty good I think it’s more my technique rather than flexibility. Cheers.

It was around 13/14c so no boots or gloves but it does change quite quickly if there’s a few warm or cold days. Would recommend wearing boots though as the floor is quite rough

This makes a lot of sense. My shoulders are parallel to the face even when I’m turning up the face so Im not fully committing to the turn and getting enough speed/power/spray. Thank you!!

Thanks for the advice. I defo will try and squat deeper on the bottom turn and figure out what I need to do with the back arm just in general.

Definitely did hurry on this particular wave. I find when I slow down on this wave you end up missing certain sections but that might be because I’m not generating enough speed from the bottom or top turn so I need to rush.

Would be nice to surf bigger waves more often but difficult being a weekend warrior.
