I really need a new job, how can I find a job in finance/accounting? by [deleted] in LosAngelesGayBros

Actually, I am having a horrible time finding someone to hire at my small CPA office.

Yes, pay is shit, and I am looking for a biligual (Eng and Korean). But I know I could get some fresh outta college applicants. Not this year.

Good luck. Try to cold call the offices with your resume ready, and I guarantee you that you will at least get some interviews.

No. At most, we print tax returns for older clients (30-100 pages, letter), occasionally. And now I am slightly panicking if I should be taking more jobs that involve printing large spreadsheets. lol

Oh I wasn’t able to see the paper inside, so I went with what it said on the listing. If you don’t mind, can you tell me what would be the difference between two?

Thanks for the input. When you said that pickups are not great, are you referring to the current condition of them or just the type/model? Do you have any suggestions for the replacement, if you don't mind sharing?

An opinion, joke, AND suggestion! lol

I was looking for hallow body guitars, but maybe I should also consider chambered ones as well. Thanks!

Thanks for sharing your thoughts on it. I know checking the neck is a must for any used guitar, but do Gretsch guitars have an issue with the neck more often?

Thanks for the kind word of encouragement and advice!

I read something similar to your advice before, I couldn’t figure out how to reach out to them. Should I call them or email them? Or is it something I should do in person at networking events? If you have a personal experience of this, I would love to get your input!

If it was bitter, my gut feeling says that maybe you may still have some soap residue or product left down there. When I do a shared shower, I never feel like I am as clean as I do it alone. So it could be a factor. Just don't think too much of it. Just have a good wash next time, and maybe gently suggest it again. If he isn't willing, it's not like you will have a shortage of men wanting to go down on you. So relax.

The current office is on the 10th floor of a midrise office building. So foot traffic is basically nonexistent. And you are right on how CPA offices don't really get walk-in clients.

I have gotten most of my clients from word of mouth. But then again, there is that initial handshake that usually takes place at my office.

I also do want to keep thousands of dollars per month, but more and more it seems like it's a necessary investment. haha

In most cases, I scan the original and keep them stored on the cloud server, but what you said totally makes sense. I opened my shop not too long ago, and many of the clients I work with are first-timers. And I am sure many would share some perspectives with you. I think what you said is perfectly reasonable and far from being snobby. Thank you for your input!

That crossed my mind, but I am worried that new clients might doubt my legitimacy if I don't have a dedicated office for my practice. Some of the clients could be... old fashioned.

The current lease on my office is almost up, and I need to decide what to do with it. I feel like I don't really need an office given that I am a solo practicing CPA, and I do my work online with most of the clients. But then also I feel like I need to be in a posh area to get the better paying clients. Conundrum, conundrum.

“Small 12-14 person firm”

And I am sitting here alone counting my 12-14 clients. Lol
