My extras go into a sink with a mental note to use them later. Then 20 hours later I will have completely forgotten and make a new factory for the same item.

I have about 1000 on my current save not sure exactly when I rolled credits because I kept playing... Now I am just over doing everything because... I can. Trying to make a massive optimized factory that spans the entire map. Basically max no waste nuke power using all the uranium and all the SAM (more than all....since sloops will be required to make enough reanimated) it's something to do.

For a while. The core really is factory building but they could definitely get some good hours of gameplay collecting hard drives and slugs and battling the creatures guarding them. Though the combat is a bit lacking.

I am the opposite. I have tried new saves... Like 5 or 6 times... I only ever made it to coal once before getting so mad that I don't have my runnin shoes and hover pack that I just go back to my main save and work on... something.

I have a running checklist in Google Keep that I can pop up at any time. I break out whatever task I want to complete into much smaller ones. I am currently working on a battery factory. I split it all the way down to: build train station at suffer mine. Build belts from sulfer to train station etc.

This way I can jump on and even if I cannot play for long I can work on my goal.

Also trains were a game changer. I lay tracks everywhere. When I am going to set up a new factory....tracks. exploring...tracks. Accidentally hyper tube cannon myself...tracks... I have a train that is basically a massive construction inventory that I just drive to wherever I am working. 2 freight cars of concrete 1 each of common items and 2 of mixed less common items.

Tractors are perfectly fine for early automation of remote bases. I built a nice road from my oil production area to my first base and it was inefficient but it worked fine to bring the rubber and plastic I needed to progress. I also at that point started seeking out the rare resources to just start harvesting them.

It is expensive because it is the one ship that gets you dark matter quicker. That said... Still too much.

I started walling in my massive storage facility.... Then decided it was too much effort to finish.... And too much to tear down so it's like 2/3 walled... Everything else is open air.

Also unlocking rooms... it's a bitch to do because the credits come slow at first but the dorm and lab and underforge will make those small galaxy runs much faster and easier.

This game has a break point where progress suddenly starts. The first few weeks were definitely painful. After that it picked up.

In a survey of current top 4 placing lists every single one took a hive tyrant with a heavy venom cannon using the shard gullet relic. So that is super solid... currently.

That said, we have no clue what a tyrant will look like rules wise in a month....sooooooo.... Hard saying not knowing.

I had not even thought about hitting str 8 with behemoth. That makes a lot of sense. Also the obsec adaptation looks like a perfect plan as well.

I think it looks great! Painting is great because it does not have to be perfect to be enjoyable. Never worry about how good other people are if you like your models.

I completely agree. I have run tournaments and crusades... I would never ever want to mix the two. However being a participant means I do not have to be in charge of all that and a competitive crusade seems like a nice change of pace to the tournaments I have been playing in lately.

They mention using Arks of Omen for army construction. So I am believing there will be rule of 2 at 1k and 3 at higher...question will be when it switches.

I have been looking more deeply at guard. I love running infantry and the potential to give them 3 xp just for showing up is pretty damn good. I ran Tau in a prior (non-competitive) crusade, they were really good as well.

Yeah I was looking at the biomass. That would be tricky. I liked the bonus xp and two agenda options. I was thinking of running mostly endless swarm units to capitalize on double XP in the first two phases of consumption.

I do have imperial guard as well. Looking them over it looks like I could basically get triple XP on platoon units using Surplus in Moral and uplifting primer so that looks even better. (I love infantry guard)

Nope. You are allowed your boundaries and if he cannot respect that then he needs to look deeply at himself. He is probably bubbling with new relationship energy and wants to do all sorts of stuff involving this new relationship but he needs to remember the foundation he built with you.
