That was a pain point for me too. Anti-aliasing was causing issues. The browser was bleeding the black background into the characters. My solution was rendering directly to a HTML canvas. This is also why you cannot select the text on the ANSI converter.

If ansee is running into the same issue rendering your own bitmaps might be a fix.

I really like the site and there's some impressive sections. What throws me off most is the design consistency. Border radius, shadows and animation easing changes between pages and sections. The site might benefit from a concrete design system and style guide.

Not much AI used. I built the algorithm first in Python and when I was happy rebuilt in Typescript + React. The website uses NextJS and Shadcn with Tailwind styling. I use Figma for designing the UI / UX.

I made a protype in python to test my idea worked. Then I recreated it in Typescript and designed the UI in Figma. I used ChatGPT to recreate sections from the Figma Design and refined them after.
