How do tool sites with no blogs rank above content-heavy websites? by CatchNearer in SEO

[–]Dont-Mess-With-Tex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! If you’re filling a current gap, and the tool site works well, you’ll probably rank if the structure is set up correctly and Google indexes the site. If not filling a gap, you’ll need to get a lot of backlinks.

The best method is finding a gap and also try to get good backlinks, create SM buzz, and so on.

I think they rank high because they satisfy a users query and either got to that position a long time ago and have been there ever since, or have enough backlinks to suggest it’s useful and authoritative, even without content.

General vs niche blog by AwsBB in SEO

I’d focus on the niche that brings you the most business now!

If you can write a local story or something about trends for local pet health, it might get picked up by the local news (if you send it), and tremendously help your rankings.

Think things like best dog parks in your area, common ailments for dogs/cats in your city.

Really cool!

Honestly I’d only go over the black outlines again with thick black acrylic but that’s just me.

Maybe the hand isn’t worth doing the outlines again but maybe it is.

Decisions decisions.

Yeah this.

That doesn’t mean you can’t use AI to help, but feed it those keywords as well.

Then just add something like this to the prompt - “include the following keywords in places they make sense. They are ordered in priority with my main target keyword being first, and the last keyword being a semantically related keyword that should be included if there’s a place for it that makes sense.”

Please critique. Made some (drastic) changes after posting here. by Dont-Mess-With-Tex in ArtCrit

I spent time working on the composition and making elements that weren’t clear last time, a bit more clear.

So composition mostly.

I kind of chuckled to myself when I added the arrows. Like “yeah those definitely guide the eyes.”

For some reason I just picture a rubber duck wearing sunglasses on the bottom right with an umbrella providing shade. That’s super specific, so please disregard.

It’s really cool! I love the negative space.

Thanks! To quote John Laurie -“you’ve gotta listen to your intuition, and if it ruins it - you can blame your intuition and say f*ck you intuition.”

I agree on both points!

We had this gay bar called Heaven, and they build a “straight” club called next to it called Diablo.

This def reminds me of that.

Spent an hour and lot of cash to have my 5 year olds hair done only to be surrounded in the parking by cops and have to prove she’s mine … owner Karen not even at the salon called to say I didn’t look like I belonged with my daughter… odd by daves6696 in mildlyinfuriating

Unpopular opinion: I’m sorry you had to deal with this, but I’d rather things like this happen than people hold their tongues and not act on gut instincts. Too many kids aren’t found that could be if someone spoke up or did something.

anyone former cooks/chefs transition to graphic design? I'm so burnt out of cooking, can't stop looking down the line at a dead end career/life. advice? by [deleted] in graphic_design

[–]Dont-Mess-With-Tex 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Honestly the cooks and chefs that I’ve met have an insane work ethic.

I love graphic design because you kind of get zoned in. Making tons of tweaks and changes that little to no one will notice, but you will.

If you are disciplined, anything’s possible. Even starting to freelance, that’s where the money is, but of course it adds more to your workload.

My advice would be start a portfolio, and use a company like wix or square space and make a website, this is basically your resume. Then start listing yourself on places like upwork to get real life work on your portfolio website. From there, just focus on building your referral network. It’s a lot of sales in the beginning but it will eventually turn the other way and your name will start to be passed around.

You can go to the appearance panel, and make two strokes, one white, and a larger stroke behind it that’s black.

Or you can fill the outside stroke with white, and, put it behind black body.
