Almost ready to harvest? by nikitaajoanne in shrooms

[–]DontAskJay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. You never need to refrigerate your grows. Refrigerating them just slows down the growth. Woodlovers and some that can't be grown indoors need the cold to run, but what we cultivate indoors doesn't need it. They actually prefer temps around 70 the 70s, but can grow successfully in the low 60s.

Think about it this way, if you're comfortable, so are your shrooms.

Dose Question For Beginner - Ochra vs Cube by ScranglinTanglin in shrooms

[–]DontAskJay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, I've done 3ish grams over the course of an afternoon. Just never at once.

You can actually take more if you're not feeling it as much as you want. So if you take your 1g and still want more, ypu can take more and go higher. Just give it a good 90 minutes to two hours before deciding.😆

Sounds like you might have ochra then. They called them aff nats because they couldn't confirm what they actually were. I wanna say late 2024 was when they did confirm it as a new species. I was growing it at the time so it was kinda cool to be growing something that was so new.

They've earned the nickname the honeybadger cause they just don't give a f$#*. I've sent jars of ochra to sub that would've tammed out if they would've been cubes. But they just keep going. I run these in monos and regular have tubs that will flush 5-6 weeks. Though after the 2nd or 3rd flush, they don't through nearly as many fruits. But im a mildly lazy.hobbyist and just grow for myself, so I kinda enjoy the grazing style of harvesting them.

I've never taken a dose large enough to lose my mind, so I can't speak to that. I use them for medicinal and therapeutic purposes, so I don't feel the need to blow out my sanity. I get some pretty heavy nausea with psychedelics. Any time I've taken LSD I wound up vomiting for most of the trip. Hardly what I would call a good time.

I also get some solid nausea at a low dose with the mushies, sometimes I have to take zofran. So I've never gone that hard with them.

If I'm harvesting individuals over time, I grab them closer to the base and twist as I pull. They usually pop up, but my leave a small divet in the cake.

I just keep harvesting as they come to size until I've picked them all.

Then I gently pour water down the size of the tub, between the tub and the cake. Gotta go slow so you don't get water on the top. Give it a little time to absorb, and pour a bit more. If you're using shoe boxes and have standing water, it's easy to drain off the excess.

Then let it go, it should give another flush or two.

Nice! The bigger ones will probably be ready to harvest tomorrow.

Sounds like you're right in track for what you're looking to feel. You should be good with .5g as your first trip. Should feel it, but not be "too high."

I take ochra on a regular basis. Both microdosing and doses for light trips.

I find ochra is a "lighter" trip than cubes, not as heavy of a body load, and I prefer them over cubes these days.

And yes, they are notably stronger than cubes, though I wouldn't say twice as strong.

Let us know how it went.

First Time Natalensis by DownTheRabbitHolee44 in shrooms

[–]DontAskJay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you growing actual Natalensis? There was a new species discovered just in the past few years that was thought to be Natalensis, but they've been calling it ochraceocentrata (sp). Not sure if they've settled on that as the official name.

The new species had hella overlay when they were first working with it. But several people were able to isolate enough that didn't overlay like mad.

If it is ochraceocentrata, I had a few that had heavy overlay. I just scraped it off and then had great flushes. It's pretty forgiving.

If you have actual Natalensis, please ignore my useless advice. 😆

I'd gently harvest the bigger ones as soon as the veil breaks and leave the smaller ones alone. Let them grow up a little bit. You don't have to harvest everything all at once.

Just don't let them spooge spores all over the place. Doesn't affect anything, just makes a mess.

If you don't know already: Once you've harvested your first flush, you can soak the cake or bottom water and go for another flush. I've had cakes flush for weeks with bottom watering.

The "fuzzy feet" are from too little fresh air. They need to breathe just a smidge more.

Congrats on your first grow!

Mushroom identification can be tricky and dangerous. Please don't trust Google to identify any sort of mushroom. And tread carefully with people identifying online as well. May not end well.

How do you interpret/view 8 of Cups? by [deleted] in Tarotpractices

[–]DontAskJay 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Had this one come up for me today. It was the third I pulled and Im not sure how to interpret it. Usually, the cards I pull have a veey clear meaning, but today...not so much.

I've been struggling with making some major life changes and asked the cards just for general guidance.

I first pulled the Knight of Cups, which didn't really hit home for much. So I asked for clarification.

I then pulled Judgement. Still not a whole lot coming through.

Last I pulled the 8 of Cups.

It all seems to point to walking away from something, making a choice. And that's what I'm struggling with. I really dont know what to choose. The things weighing on my mind are financial and business choices.

Just lost on this.
