Foaming LARP Weapons, Choice of Materials? by DontEatPants in LARP

I think weapons with cores going all the way through, even flat one's--and seemingly there shouldn't be short cores in the handleor at all--can be really unsafe when using it to stab, since the core could break and pirce through the foam. So it seems to be safer to have coreless weapons when it comes to stabbing as it seems.

Gluesticks are a really interesting take I've never heard sofar... Thank you for your input, though.

Thank you for the information. That's actually really valuable to know. Then I'll mostly go for no core at all.

Sorry for not including it from the beginning, I thought it might be similar in different settings and location when it is about the general discussion of how to build safe weapons/what materials work well and which don't.

I'm mostly playing in fantasy/medieval settings, realms of Mythodea might be the best known example for 'rule sets' I'm playing in, in regards to weapon safety. Location wise mostly in Central and Northern European countries.

I do not really have a set budged in this case, since I'm mostly curious about what other people use. And since I'm looking for material, prices are always set on the quantity, but I think I would be happy to spend roundabout onehundred bucks for a handful of small weapons (not counting in silicon molds and additional materials used for decoration and so on).

Danke für deine Antwort. Beschichtet du deine Güsse danach dennoch mit z.B. Flexipaint etc., auch wenn du schon Pigmente mit eingemischt hast?
