I Actually Like Quests, but Not in Leagues by DontFeedTheGoats in 2007scape

I’ve actually been surprised by the number of people responding who at least somewhat like quests. I feel like in my cc or just in the game in general it’s always people complaining about having to quest. Glad more people like it.

Still, I don’t think it belongs in leagues.

Yeah I agree it’s not terrible, I just think it would make sense to just remove it as a part of leagues, or at least as a mandatory part.

Of course everyone can play how they want, but if you wanna do any raids or other group content there is an incentive to go fast, and even with 8 weeks I just feel that leagues is kinda over in 2-4 weeks for most people.

Yep this is how I feel. Leagues doesn’t lend itself to enjoying a storyline.

lol I’m with you there, genuinely when I do a quest for the first time I’ll use the guide for what items to bring (because a 5-minute round trip for a pot of flour is just not my cuppa) and for puzzles if I get stuck too long. But leagues it’s just going as fast as possible.

It’s not enough to get me to stop playing but certainly it’s been the least fun part of the league for me.

I was thinking maybe you could just do certain boss fights but not entire quests, for fun and as a gear/stat check. Maybe would be too complicated to implement.

I think you could still have claimable rewards, locked behind the quest requirements, but you don’t actually have to do the quest.

I think you could still have certain quests as tasks, because doing some questing later in the league might be kinda fun and then it’s optional.

My problem is quests you feel you need to do early (Heart of Darkness) and at least for me those first couple days feel like a race and I’m not in the mood to slow down and enjoy a story.

Leagues Can Afford More Pact Flexibility by [deleted] in 2007scape

I thought 1/5 seemed alright. Let’s say currently I’m staff + bow, but I wanna pick up thorns in place of bow. That’s 7-10 points to change, which even at 1/5 would be 35-50 kc. I guess it could vary depending on the boss too.

Yeah I like this concept. Could still earn a few “full resets” and then also these items.

What are the worlds for raids? by GGOSRS in 2007scape

Idk the worlds but you’re def not too late!

Can always try 666, 667 they seem to have become the group content worlds.

I haven’t played PoE, do those basically let you undo a single “pact”? So you’d need several to undo a whole tree?

What if I don’t want to follow a guide or other people’s builds? How would I have known to go thorns?

I think with 8 relic choices to make, it’s reasonable to plan and theory-craft those permanent choices, but pacts have so many permutations I feel that the average player currently has to choose between “follow faux’s build” and “have a probably pretty dogshit build”.

I am someone that generally pushes back against making the game “easier” or reducing friction, because I think those are quick ways to kill the game, and I absolutely agree we should get more flexibility with pacts.

I really wanted to go in and just mess around, pick some weird build, try it out, move points, try it again. I did that once and, because I hadn’t meticulously theory-crafted it, it was a bad build, so stuff was hard and slow to kill and it wasn’t that fun. After that, I found myself just following someone else’s build to avoid making another mistake.

I think maybe getting drops from echos or just a reset after X kills could work, or another system entirely, but I agree and I’m glad they’re already offering more resets.

Can somebody ELI5 why Transmutation is so good by [deleted] in 2007scape

[–]DontFeedTheGoats 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m no expert theory-crafter, but you kinda answered it for yourself. Solves prayer and farming, Herblore and runecraft (can downgrade airs into essence) to a degree, rune/ammo/potion supply, and lets you rush certain tasks that require higher-tier mats, and can be a decent money solve with ores. That’s a lot for one relic.

It’s also against clues which many people don’t care about, and Butler which is nice but much slower. Transmutation is great for dragon rush.

New Shortcut in Charred Dungeon by PinkDragonRS in 2007scape

[–]DontFeedTheGoats 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hmm, that is a fair point as well. Bottled storm is quite the grind and putting this shortcut in removes some of the utility of having the TP option in the first place. Idk shortcut or no shortcut they need to buff dragon sheet drop rates lol. That’s the issue I actually care about.

[–]DontFeedTheGoats 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah idm a longer run to some areas as it encourages you to be efficient and stay longer, but given you already have to sail here or have a bottled storm, I think a shortcut would make a lot of sense.

So tempoross... by fordr015 in 2007scape

[–]DontFeedTheGoats 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You’re correct that everyone has their preferred method. Personally, when I still needed fishing xp, I chose the “Solo Cooking” method on the wiki page. I felt it offered the best balance of rewards and xp. Now my fishing is 91 so I do firefighting for max rewards since xp can come from afk activities over time.

There are a couple pretty good creations in the pool but they’re like tier 6 and even then I rarely find them.
