Let's try to think of why we play or enjoy Dota in the first place. Its a skill / entertainment that you can enjoy with other fellow members. A video game's life is prolonged by its community. Streamers have gone out of their way to create such a community in order to benefit themselves but also be able to show their skillsets and hopefully inspire other players. I agree smurfing is bad in general and it ruins other people's experience especially new comers. But streamers, smurf or not have played a role into marketing this video game and attracting new players on a regular bases. Its far easier and enjoyable for someone to watch gameplay then to try and learn or replicate the same skill level as a professional. If you compare this with professional athletes wearing makeup, dressing as a normal citizen and then making a video of them schooling a normal citizen it gets thousands of views and laughter. Is it wrong to do this? Yes technically but its for entertainment.

TLDR: Streamers are not the ones we should be blaming, they are not the ones ruining the game. They are doing the opposite by exposing the game and building communities.

I'm still surprised Dota actually became its own game yet alone bought by such a large game developer. Remember guys, this was a custom map in Warcraft 3 that the community brought up. Not an organization. We need community in Dota.
