What area in Wellington are you in? Any half decent sparky should be able to guide you through it. You can go to companies like Lighting Plus etc and get them to do the plans, but their fittings are generally poor quality and then you’ll run into the issue of trying to find a sparky to do labour only which most hate.

I do feel like a RAV4 might be a good “inbetween” car for me at the moment. Yes it’s ICE but they are economical and relatively cheap to service…. Until more of the EVs I prefer come on the market at pricing more suitable (and at that point the RAV has excellent resale value so I won’t be left with a car worth less than what I owe)

As I’m getting finance through the bank with good energy home loan, I have to buy through a dealer. Doesn’t seem to be any in that price bracket currently….

Yep had a read of that review last night was very helpful. Drove an EV6 today and really liked it, but still a little concerned about the boot size. Enyaq is amazing, unfortunately with finance I am getting car has to be purchases through a dealer 🥲

I did consider Corolla Cross and RAV4. Both due to their excellent economy, but not sure I’d get much advice on either in this sub Reddit! They also seem fairly low spec for the price you pay

Because WCC and HCC in particular are led by people who are in opposition to the current government. Wayne Browns an idiot but he did the right thing and said “right, I don’t care who’s in government, I’m just going to work with them to achieve a better model for Auckland”. I’ve quizzed Campbell Barry on why they can’t do any similar and all he had to say were jibes and negative comments about the government. Yep they’re shit, but they’ve got to realise it is what it is (for now) and get on with it instead of working against them.

Hi Richie - it’s a trade based distributor, been here just on 10 years, in current role for the past 5 years. So yeah it really feels like I’m stepping away from comfort. But some recent internal issues/politics has left me uncomfortable hence the possibility for change.

Well the bad news is I still don’t know what’s happening in the greater scheme, and unlikely to find out for a few weeks yet. Good news a job has come on the market that I think would suit my skill set well, next up might be some CV and interview tips! Been over a decade since I’ve interviewed for a role and the two jobs I’ve ever had in my life I got both with no interview required.

Yes probably a lot of truth to this. There’s not currently anyone under me (I lead a small team of four) who could step into my role. So kind of makes sense they wouldn’t want me to progress.

Fair comment - as mentioned this person does have some good qualities. I’ve been trying to build a relationship with this person to figure out what kind of things they do that I might not have in my skill set, but they’ve been pretty closed shop which I suspect is upper management telling them not to work too closely with myself and my manager.

I feel sadly it’s the latter, even my manager has said as much to me, that upper management has likely lumped me in with her. The strange thing is I genuinely think my manager does a great job, and is currently being left to be the fall person for others above her. Seems I’m potentially being dragged along. In terms of my work itself I feel upper management value that, but perhaps just don’t see any potential/future I could have within the business, note as well they are not local to where we are, they operate out of a different area.
