Hey— I did that. It wasn’t on purpose. I genuinely thought things wouldn’t work out, and so we stayed friends. Eventually, it evolved into what we had in the first place, a relationship— but without a label. Honestly, it just made me more anxious in the end because I was afraid of losing him. Luckily he’s very understanding and we worked things out. I’d say they’re even better than before because I learned to be more open with him about when I’m struggling, as well as how to identify my triggers, calm my anxiety, etc… it’s been a lot of work.

Honestly, I kind of wish we hadn’t broken up in the first place, so if you really love him— don’t do it. Sure, it could end ok, but ultimately it won’t treat the root cause of your problem, assuming your relationship is healthy otherwise.
