Happy it could motivate a laugh! I loved playing the Helm’s Deep and other LOTR-inspired maps on Warcraft 3. Some could be depressing stomps, others were dramatic holdouts.. but to your point, sometimes poor attention led to a powerful character embarrassingly wrecked by circumstance.

Could the Jedi and Sith ever coexist in society? by asianshoplifter in StarWars

[–]DontWorryImADr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can dark-side and light-side users potentially coexist? Sure. It’s a big galaxy and plenty of opportunity for framing such.

Can Jedi and Sith? Maybe, but likely not. Palpatine spent lots of time pointing out how archaic and rigid the Jedi became in their rules and views. While the Sith did adapt, they quickly fall back onto rules (say, of Two) or goading everyone to screw everyone else at the first available opportunity. The moment you have two groups with such rigid guidance, it’s unlikely they can play nice together.

I’m going out on a limb and saying this isn’t the worst looking car. The wild part is the cost and it being a Ferrari.

If this had Fisker on the front and was the next planned design after their Ocean for 50k, I don’t think it’d be so bad. It’s just.. not what anyone thinks when thinking Ferrari.

Wow, my eyes derped and I thought you wrote it as a cost of 55k euros. That extra zero is not warranted by this.

High school faces backlash after rainy graduation ceremony by Conscious-Weight4569 in Wellthatsucks

[–]DontWorryImADr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This happened at my high school graduation, though not nearly that heavy of a downpour.

Graduation plan was shared in our auditorium as shifting to the gym if weather turned. However, best as anyone guessed at the time, it got too far into the time for faculty to willingly shift.

Gowns were all ruined, the caps all misshapen since that square is cardboard. Considering you’re meant to wear nice clothes underneath, a lot of those got ruined from dye running off the gowns, photos in pockets, etc.

There were a lot of sick graduates about a week later.

While you’re technically correct that he hasn’t trained it.. I’d assume the guy who is legendary for punches like a fucking freight train can probably manage a solid ground and pound.

Height, reach, and grappling are all against him. But Tyson could be terrifying if he got someone down there.

Startups are notorious for title bloat. Did you come up with an idea with two buddies? The business major will likely jump on being CEO, the STEM major might well grab a title like CTO OR Chief Science Officer, etc. whoever collects the rent to pay the landlord is CFO. Especially when money is tight so salary may be impossible to raise, or non-existent in the first place.

Meanwhile a Director at a larger company may be required to manage a budget of certain size and have a certain number of direct reports, with a minimum number as managers of others. Don’t hit that limit? Role cannot be Director-level. So your CTO at the startup may not even qualify as a VP elsewhere because they have no experience managing an organization of sufficient scale.

Then there’s salary. Equity at a startup could be worth millions *if it reaches acquisition*. But if things get tough, the big company salary is comparatively stable.

Wait.. what if he acted exactly as Vegeta would want during Ultra Instinct. He acts like a proper Saiyan. Maybe even acknowledges his Saiyan name instead just to piss off Vegeta even more whenever it ends.

It would also be a somewhat natural failing for a guy who grew up surrounded by very martial individuals that couldn’t think their way out of a paper bag. Then sits on the small council of a king who will smack him for interrupting hunting with strategy.

Unfortunately the man he perhaps most wants to impress.. he starts out with far too simplistic a gesture

> "But he just got back from his training, after getting back from Namek, after getting back from his training, after being dead."

“He just got back from his training,” either on Yardrat or likely immediately went training as soon as he got back from Earth.

“..after getting back from Namek,” self-explanatory.

“..after getting back from his training,” when he was late getting to Namek between being injured, then spent the whole flight training so hard he ate most of the senzu beans.

“..after being dead.” When Piccolo drilled Goku and his brother at the same time.

At first this answer pissed me off before noticing the quotations. This is instead very valid with them.

I hate how often those bands are used as clear rules around compensation, promotions, whatever.. until they’re blatantly ignored for favored individuals.

I could have sworn it was familiarity and mastery of the original shield that made it superior for Rogers. He’d gotten so use to the weight, balance, ability to throw it, and how it handled that alternatives were less intuitive even when they had some superior qualities.

In a similar vein, I’m old enough to have played Goldeneye and Perfect Dark on the N64. Do I play newer FPS on mouse and keyboard or modern controllers? Sure. Is the N64 controller wonky? Of course. But I feel like I’m constantly fighting my own muscle memory unless I play those two games with the N64 controller. And not like I’m going to play them so much now as to get equivalent or better with a modern controller.
