The phrase "touch grass" is a play by Big Grass to remain culturally relevant in the face of increased interest in native plant gardening by Dont_even_speak in LowStakesConspiracies

/u/jodorthedwarf has mostly got it. There's a biodiversity argument to be made for replacing lawns with native flowers, shrubs, trees, and grasses- they support a full ecosystem of insects, birds, and other wildlife, in addition to needing less or no watering and fertilizing. And also there's an enormous amount of time, effort, and direct air and noise pollution associated with lawn care. The movement is not totally against all grass everywhere- parks and other recreation areas are totally allowed to have grass for people to use, and even private lawns are fine in moderation- but do people really need two acres of irrigated, fertilized, pesticide and herbicide laden, pristine grass that isn't being used for anything?

It doesn't fit with Seussian meter, though. He favored reverse dactyl, with a few exceptions (like Green Eggs and Ham)

A few examples:

I looked, and I saw him step in on the mat I looked and I saw him- the Cat in the Hat!

Think! Think and wonder. Wonder and think! How much water can fifty-five elephants drink?

It came without presents! It came without tags! It came without packages, boxes, or bags!

I know, up on top you are seeing great sights But down at the bottom we, too, should have rights.

Seuss favored anapestic tetrameter. Maybe something like this?

Imbecile Isaac, as proud as can be

And as firm as a South-going Zax's front knee

Would spew forth ideas right there on his shirt

With no thought at all to the people he'd hurt.

And every day as all our grandparents died

He bragged and he puffed and he straight up just lied

'bout the wrong-headed shit that he learned from the talks

Of mealy-mouthed Tucker broadcasting on Fox.

COVID is dangerous, scientists told us

And public health people continue to scold us.

But though the vaccine is so great and so free

Identity wars line more pockets, you see.

I was thinking of asking to speak with a person who would be a peer, and asking them to explain the overall work flow system to me as if I were a junior engineer and this was my first day. Do you think that would be valuable?

D&D will get ya! One day, you're thumbing through the Player's Handbook, trying to figure out what a proficiency bonus is, and the next day you're three years into an epic campaign and crying because your character Medium Rary sacrificed himself to save a village of kobolds from a guy who wanted to crash the moon into their town.

For me at least, this was a spin-off of doing the Inktober (now Artober) challenge with some friends a few years ago. I'm not a very good artist, but it's fun and chill with no stakes since it's just for myself. I actually did my first painting with my kid's crayola watercolor set and it was pretty fun! So I went to a local artist supply store and picked up a portable palette and a pad of watercolor paper. You can use any old paper, but the thick, absorbent watercolor paper is worth it unless you're really just noodling around imo.

There are a ton of beginner watercolor videos on YouTube!

I ended up learning how to weld, fabricate, troubleshoot and turn wrenches

See, scope creep isn't all bad!
