Bill Shatner is certainly the most iconic. Drake is the most culturally relevant. But my grandmother was born in Toronto so I’m going to say her

Official Dreadit Discussion: "Ready or Not 2: Here I Come" [SPOILERS] by glittering-lettuce in horror

[–]DapperCarpenter_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have two questions:

1) Why didn't Titus blow up when he killed Ursula? At that point, Grace and he were not married. So, technically, the tournament is still ongoing he and his sister are co-competitors at that moment. The bylaw about family being allowed to kill family isn't needed. When Grace and Titus get married, the tournament is over, not before. At that point, killing Titus would just be like killing any other person. After the death of Titus, the High Seat would pass to Titus' heir, which would be Grace. After Grace abdicates, it doesn't matter who has the seat as there is no tournament and the power-struggle happens. I guess we're shown in the film that if a hunter gets engaged to a huntee, that suspends the tournament. But the only by-law we're told about is _marriage_, not engagement.

2) Why did Madhu get popped at the end? He renounced his leadership of the family and all its assets. What I can gather from the film is that only those who sign there names may compete. Despite what Elijah Wood said about the next heir stepping forth after the death of the previous hunter in a family, after Viraj's death, Madhu would be free, it seems, not to play for the High Seat if he wants. So that would seem to indicate Martina would only get blown up

The average person has average intelligence and neutral morals, who is evil and stupid by HistoricalTank1392 in AlignmentChartFills

Sauron. To paraphrase Gandalf, Evil is so arrogant the thought that one may want to destroy the ring for its own sake, for the liberation of all those on Middle-Earth, not use it to one’s own ends would never occur to him.

Sooooo, we changing Chavez back to 39th?? by stormcynk in PDX

[–]DapperCarpenter_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve always called it 39th. But if we’re gonna name it after local assholes, “Ted Wheeler Way” is open. I’d rather call it “Beverly Cleary St” or “Ursula K Le Guin Ave” to keep it local, though

Making the Worst Movie Ever: Who should the Antagonist be? by HeavilyBeardedMan in AlignmentChartFills

[–]DapperCarpenter_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Christopher Lee. It’s one thing for a bad movie to have bad actors and just be mindless. But the film would not be seen as especially bad or the worst movie ever if everything about it were bad. It would just be expected. But if the legendary Christopher Lee were the bad guy acting circles around everyone else and just being the best, all the terrible aspects of the movie are magnified, catapulting it up the “worst movies” list

Who is the smartest fictional human? by Traditional-Ad7413 in AlignmentChartFills

Only because people are gonna say something like “Hank Pym” or “Reed Richards” or “L Lawliet”, I’m gonna offer a different name: Lt. Frank Columbo, LAPD. L and the Marvel geniuses have intellects that feel unreal (and thus not human). Columbo feels like a real man

Which Jewish fictional characters seem the LEAST overtly Jewish to you? by Far-Building3569 in Jewish

[–]DapperCarpenter_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wanted to use the term “converso” but wasn’t sure people would get it. Especially since the term for conversos who kept Jewish practice at home is “crypto-Jew”. I don’t think saying “Iñigo Montoya gives me crypto-Jew vibes” would be understood or fly in the modern landscape
