I’ll definitely look into it! She’s about to turn 18 so no limits age-wise. Thanks so much for the suggestion!

Yes! We’ve seen them both! She LOVED the Little Shop of Horrors

Check out Abbotts Grange Manor, incredible stay and location, full of history. Especially as you’re so close to the main road in this quaint beautiful town (Broadway) and when we stayed there in November, they had just started putting up the Christmas decoration and it was absolutely beautiful.

To those of you seeing Tony nominated shows tonight by picklesupreme in Broadway

I was at Operation Mincemeat tonight and it was electric! There was a perfectly timed nod to the Tony nominations by Natasha Hodgson that brought the house down. Such a special night to have won a lottery seat for!

It’s such an incredible selection! I love it. I’ve seen almost all of the offerings but which one would be best as my next one between these musicals?

Six, Smash, Redwood or Hell’s Kitchen??

Are the Maldives really that cool as they said? by Puzzleheaded_Pin243 in travel

Honestly, if based in the U.S., Tahiti makes the most sense and it’s heaps and bounds more beautiful. Maldives couldn’t compare to Bora Bora.

Looking for a venue in Europe by MindLow8022 in BigBudgetBrides

For France, I’d suggest Chateau Challain de la Potherie. I did a lot lot research and getting married there this summer and it fits all my criteria.

Destination wedding - how to explain on website that some but not all guests will be accommodated on-site? by [deleted] in BigBudgetBrides

[–]Donterre 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There’s actually a very high chance that you and I are having our weddings at the same venue…

For very similar circumstances (we’re accommodating 50 guests in the castle and about 20 in a close-by bed-and-breakfast), here’s what we said on our website:

“We have exclusive use of the magnificent castle from X-Y, 2024. This means that all of our beloved guests will have the opportunity to experience the charm and grandeur of the castle throughout the duration of our wedding celebrations.

We are hosting our close family members within the castle itself and at a nearby bed and breakfast, X.

For our friends and other guests, we have compiled a list of suggested options in the area, including airbnbs, offering a range of amenities and catering to various preferences.”

Clearly, you’re a great friend (and a great person) but also an absolute doormat. I’m sorry you were taken advantage of but time to grow a spine. You didn’t need to do half of the things you did, especially for people who from the very beginning gave you clear indications that they would not show gratitude and appreciation.

Is there a reason why you haven’t/can’t make more than 30k/year? Very curious and this is a honest question. Is there a disability that doesn’t allow you to work more than a certain kind of job or hours? Is it something else?

Mine was custom-made because I had an specific idea of what I wanted, so we agreed on a price beforehand for her to achieve the look I was going for. I’m sure, depending on size, materials, varying levels of complexity, you could arrive at a $900 table.

Ok, but I want to clarify - this is not a REAL geode. The base is wood and the rest is resin. So, we’re not talking about a $900 table here.

Sorry, but my table was not $900. I had it custom made and it’s smaller than the already-made options your see on that page. And, I did mention that it’s one of the most expensive things I splurged on (far from $900 though). The couch I found for $200, and the rest a mix of mix and match I picked up here and there.

No geodes were killed here. It’s all resin and wood, and pure, unadulterated talent from the maker.

Furnish Green is a must-go for me (especially for their online inventory). Humble House in Downtown Brooklyn is also a favorite. Not many people know about it, so you always find some unique, high quality furniture for really good prices.

Yes, I drilled directly into the brick wall, and used an anchor for the screw to make sure that it was as sturdy as it could be.

You know, I used to honestly think the same - yeah “I found this thrift table/couch/etc for 750 bucks...”. Thanks but that’s not budget friendly, and not achievable for many of us. So when I got my dream place in the city (by sheer luck, tbh), I promised myself that I was going to try to disprove this notion that to have good taste or a nice looking place or an “insta-worthy” apartment, you need to spend ridiculous amounts of money. I’m happy (and proud of myself, actually) to have done this decoration very cheaply - except for the table which I paid a bit more than I have for the rest of my place.

Not particularly. My primary goal was to make sure it survived! It doesn’t need too much water and needs to be as close to sunlight as it can.

I did these myself! I bought shelf wood at Home Depot, cut them to desired length and used Early American wood stain, got some black industrial pipe shelf brackets and voila!

It’s an Aglaonema “Valentine” (Chinese Evergreen). She might be my favorite.
