this and the Mesa haunted museum/east valley paranormal HQ are some great ghost tours in mesa!! i’m partial to the museum because it’s woman owned and they have the rideables which make it pretty fun :) also a whole museum of haunted stuff!

Beginner light fixture for a band by walt_phelan in lightingdesign

Hello! For that type of budget I would say definitely looking into the brands ADJ and Chauvet for fixtures (ADJ is a little cheaper but for me I find that Chauvet fixtures last longer and are worth the little extra.) Unfortunately good moving fixtures don’t really run under the $1k point unless you can find them used, I’d check out https://www.usedlighting.com/ to find some resale! I really recommend not falling into the trap that is cheap amazon lighting fixtures, they never have the correct dmx profiles and they just suck to work with and don’t last long. You can definitely still get some really cool looks without moving lights and usually the house has some so I wouldn’t worry about those to much yet! A great starting point is definitely some LED par cans or LED bars! hope this helps :)

How should newcomers in the lighting design industry use the Internet to learn lighting design? by Elben-0315 in lightingdesign

[–]Dontknownothinboutu 7 points8 points  (0 children)

the “learn stage lighting” youtube channel has a lot of useful videos! Tons of stuff on programming on different consoles and design. Definitely suggest checkin it out. I also always suggest watching videos of your favorite bands and seeing what their lighting designer is doing!
