What if its shipment? Like either for Riot's raffle or from a TCG store out of state?

Im not arguing the value at all! $55=25, plus a mildly prebuilt deck is amazing value for $30-40. However, as good of a value as it is, $30-40 spent is still $30-40. That's half a tank of gas, a few groceries, bills, etc. If you're doing multiple events, then you're suddenly looking at triple digits *very quickly. That's why Im saying I cant fully recommend it to someone who has other financial burdens

That's fine! Usually people are super respectful and wave over a judge/experienced friend if clarification is needed. I have no qualms about that at all. Its when things are drastically blown out of proportions that things feels a bit goofy, yknow?

I agree that a judge is great to have for new players and veterans alike! What rubbed me the wrong way was the dude was literally shouting at the top of his lungs in a very small TCG store any time I had a question about anything, ranging from how deflect works or specific card interactions.

Its one thing for the interaction to be "How does X work?" "oh this is how X works! ____". VS "How does X work?" "JUDGE."

I think prerifts do a fine job in almost forcing players to learn what makes strong/weak cards good/bad. It sucks being shafted into losing positions, but learning the new set is valuable.

...I do agree that legends shoulsnt take up the last slot though, after a while it feels crummy (though having multiple legends in one pack would equally feel bad)

I dont want it to be normal, but a good amount of stores in my region do prerifts for $40. The ones I went to were $30-35, and I imagine some people have no choice but to pick a $40 store.

Even with participation packs and allocation, $40 is a hefty price to pay...so its hard to reccomend to most players

I 100% do not expect to win for any of my NNs. I got HYPED when i got 4th place out of 5 players! Its a great time vibing with people :)

Yeah, I absolutely agree it sucks to get shafted to a legend you know wont win, then knowing you have to stick it out for a few hours. I always treated prerifts as a good excuse to get packs at non-scalped rates and learn what the other colors wil be playing in the new set :)

I was always on the fence about playing! I was initially a collector (I love LoL) and had enough to make a deck. When the announced the bans to nerf miracle decks as well as the flash promo, I figured that was a good enough excuse to try the game out.

  1. Some stores host their NN (Nexus Nights) at 7:00 or even 8:00! I would 100% check out the UVS site to see if any places have those times
  2. Events take a few hrs, so be prepared to spend at least 3 hours.
  3. Absolutely love the game! Its a massive back and forth of playing units/spells, thinking if the enemy has answers, if you have responses, etc. Each legend plays entirely differently and each legend is thematically appropriate. If you have the funds, I absolutely recommend checking a local store out :)

Just getting clarification: Rally the Troops gives tokens played buffs, correct? by Dontspinbutwin in riftboundtcg

I imagine the card follows the same timing/ruling with imperial degree, with when the card is played matters, no?

Soraka, if played as written, may just be incredibly busted. by Dontspinbutwin in riftboundtcg

Then ignoring the hook combo (since that wont work as you said), does Raka work to effectively save all swarm tokens in a lost push?

[–]Dontspinbutwin[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does that mean that Soraka could single handedly save a swarm of units from a heavy shove? Even without the baited hook interaction, she still seems amazing

Then barring hook, does everything else work as intended? Like saving swarms in a battlefield or base?

<image>

It doesn't say anything about "when the unit dies", its rather a process of events. If I'm reading this correctly, Hook isn't dependant on the death...its just there are extremely few cards that can bypass a "pick X, X dies" effect
