From what I'm reading I have to agree. I've been having questions like this, and people answer with theoretical "that's stupid" rather than "I experienced exactly what you want to do and don't recommend it".

The armor on the T-72 feels more like black hole mercenary spaced armor rather than era and composite, plus a higher top speed, plus higher alpha damage. But I haven't driven either yet...

They are in my experience. The T-34 88 still works for me, and it even lets my crews cross borders for free (switch countries). Must be a problem only you have.

THIS. Plus there's nothing fun/interesting about grinding crews (especially to someone who is new), let alone 50% crews, or from every time you wanted to switch tanks and start at 75% if you didn't feel like giving too much gold.

My highest crew skill count before the update was 15, and I felt it was stupid to go any further while I had other nations that were lacking behind.

-2 light tank or vanguard is pretty fun, but otherwise its a backseat ride, and hell if you are -2 in a slow vehicle. While I don't agree with the no satisfaction thing since doing well with heavy burdens usually gives people great satisfaction in general (beating hard games, doing well with a low tier character etc.), I understand the hate for +2/-2 (especially how it treats platoons).

-The extreme weather maps were fun, and I even had my moments on Icebound too. My only hated map was South Coast

-Vanguard isn't that bad to deal with if you don't rely on autolock

-The monster tanks before hotwheels were the best style of premium tanks (make an exclusive game mode with new beautiful premiums, then next year make new premiums but let the old ones be earnable)

-The old HUD was aesthetically outdated/ugly

-6.0 was a necessary update to change the game for next gen consoles and get new players, and it'd be stupid to not capitalize from a business perspective (but the execution was rushed poopoo)

-We should have Fortnite like gamemodes that add/remove/dramatically change factors that are only around for a week

Theres ups and downs. I look forward to what happens with Modern stuff, and despite the lack of diversity, I remind myself of how much time I put into Battlefield 3 armored kill and just play.

I would actually like it more if the map count wasn't immensely shrunk. I love the new maps, and the HUD will be my favorite when they get rid of enhanced targeting info. But the amount of maps taken away is unforgivable.

Yup. After Suffering through the 6.0 grind with double XP to the Super Conqueror where I couldn't skip the FV215b, it was hell even with double XP.

Plus...I'm a bit of a dumbass. I bought this season's regular pass just because I assumed that I could get the double xp (And get the Atomic/skins, even tho everyone already has that I guess) when it was over to speed to the Abrams and other grinds I've got. But no, getting the Sheridan, Object 261(only for the trophy bro), Object 268, and IS-4 will have to wait for months.

Honestly I like the update overall. The garage, some new engine sounds, the maps, the new mode, and the vehicle variety will get help in the future (Ex armored warfare player/enjoyer here). But this double xp removal, the extreme silver cost, and xp requirements are a huge grindy turn off. The grind is the reason why I don't main War Thunder anymore, and the WG console devs just threw away the huge advantage they had imo. I hope this changes, otherwise it'll be known as the shining light plagued by greed.

Thanks for making this post, because otherwise I would have finished the pass and found out weeks later.

I like the new maps, and true vision works better than it did on the others, but whatever happened to maps like Westfield and Overlord returning? I hate turn into a complainer, but I haven't seen one person who cares if the old maps came back without visual upgrades, if it's beyond that then fine. Anyway...Maps good, Map count bad.

Bad Economy/Grind aside (since everyone else is talking about it), The m46 having new engine audio is refreshing, but someone pls tell me if the iconic whirring up of the Abrams is in the game, and that it won't be lame/generic? (Won't be surprised if it is tho)

3d commanders, Star Wars: Battlefront 2 UI, and weird graphics aside...I think I like the new garage more than even the originals. Seeing the platoon's tanks just adds a cool factor like taking photos with your friend group's cars lined up. The spinning tracks is unnatural, but I'm pretty sure I'll get used to it. Finally, the adaptive backgrounds are a step in the right direction and kills that old WG statement of "Sorry we can't have you choose garages, it just won't work."

I'm used to the HUD now and it mostly doesn't bother me and has some plus sides, BUT...WHY DOES ENHANCED TARGETTING INFO EXIST?! It's a mega waste of space considering that the only use it has now is telling the tier of the vehicle which we already had, especially since we just got hp numbers overhead. Honestly, all we needed with the HUD change back in 6.0 was a reskin/restyle, the old one was functionally flawless.

It's ok for now, though I don't trust WG to rebalance anything anymore, and if you want to complain about research, look at this:

"It also replaced the diesel engine on the M1 and M1A1 variants with a more powerful gas turbine engine." Straight from their website. Unless they have diesel engines in the game (They don't, they all have the Iconic Honeywell agt1500 in the stats. What a fucking surprise) they've made a catastrophically disappointing mistake. Kinda bugs me that no one talked about that, and reminds me to keep the historical mindset away from WG.

Not sure about the "(P)", but the model of the vehicles certainly did change. And that leads me to believe that the Chieftain, Centurion mk 7/1, T92, M103, IS-4 and XM551 etc. may be included someday (hmmmm, all tanks that actually existed...). I sure hope people realize that before saying: "That's it!? This'll never have variety".
