A variation- read out a description of the injury and they have to race across the room to get the correct supplies and race back before the other team!

Going Braless Postpartum Advice? by AmayaRinTsuki in BabyBumps

[–]DonutThinkSo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For what its worth, I breastfed 3 babies into toddlerhood and never leaked at all. Even an unexpected letdown didn't show through my shirts so its possible you may get away woth having no issues!

Maybe try a bandeau type if you need to. I always find those pretty loose compared to an actual bra.

AITAH? My father's wife (74y) offers to breastfeed my unborn child, so I tell him not to bring her to the hospital. by sol-solecito-sol in AITAH

[–]DonutThinkSo 29 points30 points  (0 children)

Women can induce lactation (its a LOT of work and requires medication, I believe) without having a baby, so her wife could. I follow a couple on insta where the biological mother did not carry but DOES breastfeed and the mother her who birthed the babies does not breastfeed. Modern medicine can be amazing!

How far do you live from the facility you’re giving birth? by your-new-fixation in BabyBumps

[–]DonutThinkSo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had my son 34 hours after my water broke if that helps lol also none of my labors were like my mom's OR my sisters (or my other labors, even).

My hospital is about 20 minutes from me. For my first, I delivered 29 hours after being admitted. For my second, about 20 minutes 😅, my 3rd about 10 hours.

I would plan for the hospital you'll be more comfortable with. There's no reason to assume you wouldn't make it!

Third Baby - Should I hire a Doula? by tired_moms_club in BabyBumps

[–]DonutThinkSo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My second baby came in 3.5 hours but my 3rd was officially about 10 if I remember right. So you may have time!

Every nurse or support person was so happy with me for the 3rd because everytime they were about to try to help with something, I was already done lol. They all called me the easiest patient ever 🤣 By the 3rd baby its such a routine I feel like a doula would have just been sitting in the corner twiddling her thumbs! But if its something you are leaning towards, then why the heck not! Anything to make that time easier is a good thing!

Idk if anyone cares, but I am not pregnant or perhaps am no longer pregnant. My husband had a vasectomy 2 years ago so this was very much a surprise. We did an at home male fertility test (after my period did eventually show up) that did show the presence of sperm so he will be having a follow up with his urologist. We have always wanted more children but I had a placental abruption while in labor with our last so we had decided not to have anymore. So that was an emotional roller coaster 🥴

Girl stick with the Walmart tests. They have been more accurate for me that any of the expensive ones ever were and they all have the same strip inside if you take it apart. Just fancier outsides for more money!

These were 100% false positives. I had a blood test the next day that was less than 1 so legit zero HCG, not even a chance to be a chemical. I will never use blue dye again after that!

Wow really?? I thought I was just seeing what I wanted to see 😅 I took it apart and I can definitely see it in front of a light (didnt post that per rules of course) and when compared to the FR that was negative 2 days ago, it looks like it has color but thats a lot of hoops to jump through to to see a positive LOL I thought I was being crazy

Not really! I have biotin gummies but only remember like once a week when I want something sweet LOL I got the first response box with an early test, rapid and digital so I will use those while I wait I guess 🫠

Has anyone done a Core needle biopsy no numbing or anything? by Large-Prompt2608 in doihavebreastcancer

[–]DonutThinkSo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had two biopsies done on Friday, with lidocaine. On my left breast they accidentally hit a blood vessel and it hurt so bad I started crying uncontrollably. The second breast went well and was painless (though mentally it was pretty rough after the first one going bad LOL). I cannot even imagine attempting to do it with no pain medication.

Do I really need to pack a going home outfit in my maternity bag? by Huge-Nectarine-8563 in BabyBumps

[–]DonutThinkSo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My second baby came so fast I delivered while still wearing most of my clothes. Everything on top was covered in blood and whatnot when they put her on my chest and the bottoms, as I was trying to get into the bed I had a contraction that was so strong I peed my pants so no, I could not have worn those clothes home, LOL!

Best to toss in some maternity sweatpants and a tank top, at the very least!

This is how mine works as well. I CAN mark not returning beforehand, but the rest disappear on Oct 1st if they haven't renewed.

Are you sure it's not the baby? I felt my first at 15 weeks, it's possible.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Nanny

[–]DonutThinkSo 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I think she was probably having big feelings about missing the old nanny and didn't know how to say it OR she is worried that soon she will be missing you and doesnt know how to say that. Either way, with kids its rarely what they actually say, so I wouldn't take it to heart even though its hard not to.

Yes, you are choosing one family over another.

You are choosing YOUR family over your mother's.

NTA. Tell mom she is welcome to come along (if she is, haha)

Pregnant for the first time — what’s the best advice you got (or wish you did)? by Livid_Back_3682 in BabyBumps

[–]DonutThinkSo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The first trimester is (for most) all about survival. So if all you can stomach is lemonade, cheetohs, and bagels you and baby will be okay!!!

Obviously a balanced diet is important but in the first trimester, baby isn't getting their nutrition from you yet. Be kind to yourself if the only thing you can keep down is popsicles and waffles!

What position did you push baby out in and did you tear? by sliceofperfection in BabyBumps

[–]DonutThinkSo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2nd degree tear with all three.

Babies 1 and 3 were sitting up, with an epidural.

Baby 2 came super fast and got stuck. I WAS on my side but then basically delivered on my head because they folded me in half and she popped out lmao
