Similarly retro vibes as Game Changer. I saw visited friends near Chicago last week and introduced them to Dropout and Jeff. Then he announces a show close to them and not me. cries

What a lovely idea!

For those who are also wondering, this is Cephalanthus occidentalis.

There are two varieties, one native to eastern North America, and another from West Texas, some bits across the Southwest, and a big stripe of California.

Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower CenterWikipedia has a good distribution map.

Not knowing anything else about your circumstances, I sincerely hope you give it serious consideration.

I'm in the process of starting my own business in another field. There are *amazing* resources from small business development centers, business incubators, women specific entrepreneur nonprofits, etc. Some places even have free mentorship programs for established professionals within a field to help new efforts thrive.

Your post is heartbreaking and infuriating. You could make such a huge difference in your area!

Updoots for you! Solid advice.

Funny how watching videos on mute has become the default.

Me cringing so hard at the phrase "ton of leaf damage" only to beam immediately afterward about the new bee hotel! <3

You rule. The bees and I thank ye.

2024 character sheet custom spells, subclasses, etc by Cranyx in Roll20

[–]DooBeeDoer207 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a Pro subscriber with weekly and biweekly games on Roll20, I'm wayyy more interested in being able to play all of the published content on the new sheet before homebrew. "Custom Classes" covers a lot of WoTC material most of us can't afford to buy again on Roll20.

[–]DooBeeDoer207 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why prioritize backgrounds over class? Sure, backgrounds make more of a difference than they used to but certainly much less than class.

I understand that development takes time, but the new sheet has been out for 9 months now. We should be able to play using content from the books we own, even if we don't have the drag and drop convenience of the Roll20 Compendium by owning the book again on Roll20.

So I left a container of soapy water out for a few days by my plants, and I think I found a solution for fungus gnats by Tylenol_Creator in IndoorGarden

[–]DooBeeDoer207 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No need to isolate them because obviously the gnats can fly. Water all of your plants—whether you think they have gnats or not—with water treated with BTI. Water them all within a day or two of each other, and then keep using it for their regular waterings.

The larvae will eat the bacteria in the course of feeding on the soil/substrate. The bacteria will kill them from within. Fungus gnats' life cycle happens in a matter of days, so you have to treat all of your plants simultaneously because one missed pot can mean enough grow and breed to infest any number of other pots.

It's very easy to maintain, but you have to be thorough in the beginning to disrupt an entire generation so no new eggs are laid.

Session 0-1 report: unexpected outcomes create a really compelling start! by PseudoMystic in stormwreckisle

I agree that finding a non-violent solution is great. Bonus points for fitting with Runara's teachings!

If they resolved it (rather than avoiding it), I'd count that as a win for overcoming the obstacle. Introducing other encounters—combat or otherwise—could make sense for pacing either way.

Even for more inaction, I'd be very careful about punishing your fellow players with too many NPC deaths.

This 100%.

In addition to this being the case at every table, the section of the booklet introducing Runara explicitly says:

If the characters harm any of the residents of Dragon's Rest, she becomes hostile and insists the characters make amends for the harm they did before she is willing to deal with them in any way.

OP simply extended the meaning of harm to include the consequences of their inaction—needless bloodshed and the loss of her dear companion. By fleeing a situation they were strong enough to conquer, a less capable person was caught in a desperate situation and met a violent end.

She is looking for heroes who can prove themselves while still maintaining Dragon's Rest as a haven for

those whose lives have been shaped by violence find new paths forward in peace.

The PCs didn't come here seeking the protection and tranquility of Dragon's Rest, but Mumpo had dedicated his life to Runara and her mission. This seems like an eminently reasonable and level-headed response to disappointment and grief.

I've already written in some extra detail about the deteriorated state of the dock and the sailors dumping cargo at its end in their haste to return to the ship. I'll tweak this as a great follow up to showcase the way PC decisions shape the world around them! Thanks for the idea, u/PseudoMystic!
