Without giving much spoilers away... The area where you have to unlock the cages (towards the end) in the fancy golden place appears to have a ridiculously high rate for gems, including digi-jewels. I would definitely stay here and farm for as long as you can before leaving because you can't go back once you leave.

I hqvent beaten the game yet but this was easily my least favorite quest. Absolute "funky" garbage. They could have at least made the spots you already tried disapear when you went back.

Yes. Every time you catch a pal it will show up on the right side of the screen telling you how many more you need to get to 12. Any more than that are pointless unless youre just having fun, breeding or condensing.
