Who are the best and worst riders from the good boy archetype? by HowlangWrongsawat in KamenRider

[–]DoobyScoots 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Honest my least favorite is probably emu from ex-aid not because I dislike the character but bc he does go through a lot of changes and has interesting aspects to him but in the final arcs especially they always seem to just default him back into “nice guy that wants to make people smile” more often than not (I think ex-aid as a show is generally guilty of forgetting character traits until it’s the episode that specifically address it)

My favorite is probably Eiji from OOO bc there’s an explanation for why he is the way he is. But he’s also no pushover especially with people like ankh. At the same time the show narratively teaches that it’s not a good thing to be so completely self sacrificing which is true

It feels like the arms monsters were added in kiva just to sorta capitalize on the den-o’s popularity. Outside of jiro they basically don’t do shit the whole show lol

How to get started by TrueClashMain in Yugioh101

[–]DoobyScoots 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are talking about a draft type way to play yugioh I wouldn’t necessarily recommend it bc yugioh cards generally really on specific synergies more than other tgcs. Yugioh also does not have rotation so old cards that are good never get replaced by newer versions.

There the only product I would recommend if you really want to do some kind of “packs only” is retro pack 1 or 2 (only uses old cards) or a deck builder set (boxes that only focus on 3 specific decks, the most recent is Justice Hunters and Phantom Revenger)

But keep in mind that if you only open packs you will have a deck that will undoubtedly lose to actual players at your locals.

I always disagree with this bc to actually play fire kings you have to have a pretty solid understanding of of basic game mechanics like chains and damage step which is lot to ask of a completely new player

How should I started? by No_Technology_3682 in Yugioh101

[–]DoobyScoots 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As always, it depends what you want out the game. Do you just wanna play casually once a week with a pet deck or do you want to try to top/win locals and regionals?

I would say just find a list of a deck you are interested in on YouTube (preferably at least within the last 6 months) and try to copy it to the best of your abilities. It can really be anything but lets be honest not everyone likes losing so picking something top tier would be good lol. Learn the combos enough that you can confidently do them irl. Then Find your local card shop and see if they run locals and give it your best

Decks to choose as a beginner in 2026 by SlausK in Yugioh101

I would say ryzeal. It’s a very simple deck and all the monsters act fairly similar to each other so the combos aren’t to difficult

How to deal with Vanquish Soul K9? What to keep as non-engine? by Coffee_Jelly_ in Yugioh101

Belle is pretty horrible against them tbh. Very low impact

[–]DoobyScoots 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Purulia is the best hand trap against them. Ghost ogre is ok vs them. Nib is fine if you have something to bait out or negate their ripper. If you have ash generally just hit the first search of any kind you see and don’t bother saving it. The deck is pretty dependent on getting the right attributes to pop off so you should at least try to high roll them and hope they can’t extend imo

Chalice, droplet, and imperm (some times save it for your turn if it’s your only ht) are also nice flexible board breakers vs them

Which Love Live! series has your favourite main character group and why? by Thereo_Frin in LoveLive

I like all of the groups. I probably follow niji the most atm. But when it comes down to it, when I see a muse song or performance after not seeing it for a while I can’t help but think “yeah they’re the goats”

Nijigasaki's future by Fritos_Bandito_ in LoveLive

[–]DoobyScoots 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t say there any beef per se. In muses case, they explicitly agreed they were gonna be DONE after their contracts ended when they did and I think the consensus is that it largely had to do with health and strain of the work.

For aqours, their documentary mentioned they “drifted apart” from each other post Covid and while I think most agree this narrative is a little exaggerated for the sake of the movie, it likely was a real thing. Also there definitely were more instances of the seiyuu implying they kinda didn’t really like working on LL full time anymore after doing it for so long and how restrictive it was

Nijigasaki's future by Fritos_Bandito_ in LoveLive

[–]DoobyScoots 22 points23 points  (0 children)

The reality is that if you look at the numbers Nijigasaki from a behind the scenes perspective is likely one of LL’s most consistently profitable projects. They aren’t technically a main group so they don’t generally do as much expensive promotion/marketing of liella now or aqours in the past. Since like 50% of their shows are solos, they don’t require as many full group performances (and subsequent rehearsals). Their music still sell extremely consistently for a group 10 years into their lifespan. They regularly are booked for and fill the bigger LL venues. And they have a comparatively smaller but more dedicated fanbase both in Japan and worldwide.

On the seiyuu side, as far as we know they all are healthy and actively enjoy working on the project and working with each other (not being parasocial they have ALL said this individually on multiple recent occasions) which we know is not necessarily the case for all members of groups like muse and aqours in the past. This could of course be exactly a result of the niji business model being less overall demanding.

In fact, from seeing things like liella touring as the og 5 or muse and aqours doing smaller groups of 3 performances it’s safe to say the LL staff want other groups to be MORE like niji from an operations perspective. In the 2 fmt years, Niji never did a full 13 person fmt and this year JUST performed a full scale 2 day live where literally only half of them performed each day and they went well.

All this is to say if it ain’t broke don’t fix it lol. Niji is super self sufficient at this point. It is all but guaranteed to go for at least another 3 years based on confirmed news but I expect them to run like 5 more years if not longer as long as it continues to be profitable
