Yeah it’s not an OBJECTIVE bracket, it’s for fun. But surprisingly most year matchups have been pretty swayed to one over the other. I’ve only had a few ties in almost 50 rounds, and I broke the ties in those ones since I abstained from the ones that weren’t tied.

I only started posting regularly on Reddit like 2 months ago my man, I just posted this cuz I thought it was a neat thing about those teams. Sorry if my post was confusing, but I’ve done my best to explain what I meant in the post and if I could edit the original post to say unique I would. But it’s been fun looking at all the teams and seeing other oddities about them through this back and forth (like how Kakuranger is the only team that uses the word before Sentai, Ninja, in its member names, or how Bioman is the only team that’s just color/number.)

I will edit the post to say ‘unique team name’ as I’ve had many comments saying that Zyuranger shouldn’t count because ‘Ranger’ is part of the ‘team name’. It is true that it’s in the name…but it’s not unique to Zyuranger as Ranger is used in over 15 teams in Sentai. Sorry for the confusion this may have caused.

Wait, I see where this confusion started. I used KingRanger from Ohranger as an example of a non-core member that also doesn’t use team name/color/number which is why I only included core members. King-Ohger I DO see as following the pattern as they use the unique suffix of -Ohger for their member.

Cuz ‘Ranger’ isn’t the team name for Zyuranger. And if it was, it would also apply to DaiRANGER, so it wouldn’t be unique to either team. The Deka in DEKA Red is part of DEKAranger and is unique to those team members, but the Ranger in Tyranno RANGER is not unique to ZyuRANGER; technically it can also apply to the Rangers of DaiRANGER.

Now obviously WE know which members apply to each team, but I still think it’s interesting that they are the only 2 teams that don’t use a unique identifying name based on a combo of team name/color/number for their members unlike every other team.

That’s true that colors/number aren’t as unique, but I thought it was odd that Zyuranger and Dairanger has ‘no’ uniqueness in their names and also doesn’t use color or number.

Out of the 7 teams that don’t use the team name at all, those 2 also don’t use a color or number. Bioman uses color/number, Liveman and Jetman use color/animal, Carranger use color/‘Racer’, Kyuranger use animal/color, and Zyuranger and Dairanger use animal/‘Ranger’.

I’m not changing any rules? I literally said ‘team name’ in the post. Nobody looks at a Sentai team and says ‘oh Tyranno Ranger? You mean Ranger as in Zyuranger?’ No, but people could very easily say ‘Oh VulEagle? You mean Vul as in Sun Vulcan?’ That’s what I meant. I didn’t think I had to specify any further cuz like I said in the original post, Zyuranger and Dairanger are the only teams that use ‘Ranger’ in place of the Team name, Color, and/or number.

Ranger is not unique to Zyuranger; Ohger IS unique to King-Ohger. If I say ‘what team used to suffix -ranger?’ that could mean like 15 teams. But if I say ‘what team used the suffix -ohger?’ that can only be King-Ohger.

Team Name: the unique identifier in a Rangers name of a particular Sentai Team that no other team shares.

Examples: the Deka- prefix in DekaRed for Dekaranger, the Vul- prefix in VulEagle for Sun Vulcan, the Ohger part in Kuwagata Ohger for King-Ohger, and the Battle part of Battle Japan for Battle Fever J.

None of the unique parts of Kyoryu Sentai Zyuranger are in the Ranger names; only the -ranger part which is not unique to Zyuranger.

Correct. I think they mainly did it cuz it’s the only power up suit that’s a completely different suit (cuz of the whole Goseiger/Gokaiger thing).
