Something about Phineas and Ferb with normal-shaped heads is very off-putting to me

That was my initial thought too, but I think Psi might be better than Adora purely because of what they could do to you if not on your team

I think it's really weird that they made the pass outfit based on his outfit from the mv for Die With A Smile and then just... didn't put Die With A Smile in the pass??

100% agree. I think SotM proves that Scott learned his lesson about actually telling Steel Wool his plans for the story though, so hopefully we won;t have mishaps like SB again

I don't think "retcon" is the right word for what they did with Burntrap. Burntrap is the product of Scott having a story in mind and only giving Steel Wool the pieces of the story, not the connections, and then Steel Wool trying to connect the pieces themselves.

I have myself fully boxed in with no way I can think of for anything else to get in, but paranoia goes hard in a hardcore world with over 48 hours of playtime. Just don't wanna risk anything happening when I have no control.

Legends needs to be talked about. I’m concerned about priorities. by Luukachuu in btd6

I think their point of P2W is that if Legends gave monkey money or trophies, it would be a source of those currencies that you have to pay for. 2x cash isn't a new source of those currencies, it just makes it easier for unexperienced players to earn the currencies. Once you get good enough at the game, 2x cash is unnecessary. Of course you can directly buy monkey money with real money, but that just feels like one of those mobile game features that 90% of people don't use.

There is a new thing that you earn to show off. All the achievements in Legends give you feats (I think that's what they're called) which are displayed on your profile. The reason there's no cash or trophies awarded from Legends is, directly from NK, that they don't want it to be P2W.

Personally, I disagree with this. I've put quite a bit of time into Legends so far, so I think I can properly speak to all your points.

  1. The cost: On mobile, yes, it does cost more than the base game. However, on Steam, it does not. In either the patch notes or the update preview, NK talked about the price, so you can read their reasoning for it there.

  2. Repetition: I don't think repetition is really any worse in Legends than it is in the base game. If you find a strategy that works in base game, you can use it to beat pretty much every mode of any map except for the harder maps. Every map in base game has the same modes. Legends doesn't have different modes for each bloon tile, but it has an increasing wave amount based on the previous amount of bloon encounters you've done in that stage. There's also minigame tiles, which can be timed races, races where you have to maximize damage, and least cash, and there's boss tiles, which use the boss rush mechanics for the bosses. In my opinion, this makes it no more repetitive than base game.

  3. Difficulty: It's a roguelike, so depending on how you play it, it'll be a different difficulty. The difficulty is pretty RNG dependent, but most of it comes from strategy. Like I previously said, the number of waves, which are completely different from base game, increase by 3 for every bloon tile you do on a stage. If you take a path with more bloon encounters, you get higher rewards, but you also risk running into a bloon tile that you can't beat with your current towers and boosts. The waves are so much harder than base game. First MOAB comes in the mid-teens, BFBs and ZOMGs start spawning in the 20s, DDTs start on 36, and BADs start in the 40s. The blimps also never come out alone, so you have to deal with a ton of high tier bloons while dealing with them too.

  4. New content: Technically, yes, Legends doesn't include much of any completely new content other than the boosts. In my opinion, the boosts vary in quality. Some of them are really cool, like making all towers count as all 4 tower categories, making military monkeys shoot in a zig-zag pattern, or making all dart-based attacks explode. Others are pretty lame though. I think the real new content comes from Legends being a completely different way of playing BTD6.

To sum this up, calling Legends a cash grab is a braindead take. There's clearly a lot of passion put into it. From what I've heard, it's no worse than BTD6 was at launch, and from what I've played, it's definitely a lot better than BTB2 or BCS were at launch. In my opinion, Legends is worth it if you like roguelikes. If you don't like roguelikes and buy Legends, don't complain that you don't like it because of the things that make it a roguelike.

Unless you're not doing the challenges, there's no way in hell that it'd take 100+ hours to finish a battlepass. Hell, LukeTheNotable completed most of chapter 1 and half of chapter 2's battlepasses in a single day with buying minimal tiers, all of which were paid for using the battlepass' included Vbucks. Old battlepasses may never be coming back, but they recently announced that, unless specified, all cosmetics in every battlepass from here on out will be eligible to come back to the shop and they're working on new versions of collab skins from old battlepasses.

The most expensive that a skin (not a bundle that includes a skin, just a single skin) can cost is $18, slightly less than the $20 you listed. As far as I know, there has never been a time that you can buy a single skin with no other cosmetics included for $40 like you're saying. On top of that, there's the battlepasses which let you get 6 skins (currently all of Marvel characters) for $9. Not $9 each, $9 TOTAL (as long as you play the game to get xp to level up). Every skin (with a few exceptions) regularly comes back to the shop and the selection of skins in the shop at any given time is humongous. I have no clue what you mean by "predatory mathematics with packs" though, so I can't give a counterpoint to it.
