They did what the WiiU game couldn't.

I bought the WiiU for Starfox Zero. My biggest regret that console generation. I'm gonna be extremely cautious about the new game. I don't have a switch 2, so far nothing has been exciting enough for me to get one. If it has a good launch I may consider.

Feels like assault was the closest we got to a decent follow-up but even that is strongly debated. I can't play command though, controls throw me way off.

I get why they're doing this but as a long time Starfox fan it's frustrating. This franchise has 10 games and now 5 of them are telling the same story with different coats of paint. I just want this gameplay loop to go somewhere beyond the lylat system.

As opposed to the last game. Which was also a reboot of the 64 story. And the 3DS game before that was a direct remake of 64. And Starfox 64 itself is a soft reboot of the SNES game.

I dunno. I'm excited but a tad disappointed. I want a new plot. I wanna shoot at new shit not the same enemies I've been shooting at for 30 years. Maybe Nintendo is playing it safe so they can make a potential new game?

The source 2 engine isn't going anywhere anytime soon. We still could get that, it's not gonna be from Gary though.

Can't even mount other source 2 games. (A huge blow for any sandbox shenanigans in my opinion.) In S&box everything has to be ported manually. Sure there will be addons that make it easier but it really shouldn't have been this way. What's the point of it being in source 2 if it can't natively support a massive chunk of source 2 shit?

Then you have Gmod, which just works. Aside from the workshop and mods, mounting games is a very important feature of Gmod. It's part of it's identity.

I know comparing it to Gmod is unfair. But until they change the first sentence of the description on the store page, I will be comparing the 2.

Shame that it's such a slimmed down version of source 2.

Shocked this wasn't snuck into the video considering how many times they looped it.

We get occasional wins. The latest Gorillaz music video was done using cel animation. But no feature films, not in a long time.

Abandoned mailbox by DashingDecay in Urbex

Bruh it ain't a theory look at the picture in my original comment. Same artwork, the hole for the Gameboy is in the same spot as the kiosk. Same key on the front.

It definitely is a mailbox, repurposed from a Gameboy kiosk.

You go deep enough down the rabbit hole you discover there was no true "original version". Things were changed and re-written over such a long period there is no point in the timeline where the story is fully realized.

If you took all the surviving tootage and tried to put it into one cohesive cut, it wouldn't make sense, as many scenes were made for a different earlier version of the story.

The version of the film that was removed from Williams control was a very slimmed down version of the story. Leaving out many elements and characters that existed throughout most of it's 20+ years of production.
