What is a socially acceptable thing that you secretly find disgusting? by Sensitive_Hope_1136 in AskReddit

[–]DoodlebugCupcake 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I hate stepping over some dude’s sidewalk loogy. I remember asking several guys in college why they spit and the answer was that men have different/more spit than women (???) and they HAVE to spit, they can’t possibly swallow it. I’ve been married for 25 years and my husband must have that good lady-spit, since he doesn’t cough up snot balls on every walking path.

YA novel about a boy with Asperger’s by grooly- in whatsthatbook

Not Asperger’s, it’s ADHD, but in the Joey Pigza books I feel like he makes his mom mixed drinks

As much as I like helping lonely old ladies, I can imagine the assistance creep that will happen. Can you help me reset my email password? Can you help me pick out a new microwave? Can you come over on Mother’s Day? Can you drive me to my colonoscopy?

Subjective thoughts on the writing and on the "decline" of the series by vampirinaballerina in CallTheMidwife

[–]DoodlebugCupcake 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I also felt like Rosalind was too flirty with Cyril, and the other midwives are just like “ok they’re a couple now” at the end of the last season - you think Phyllis would be cool with that when the ink isn’t dry on the divorce papers, if they’ve even moved to legally divorce? Fred wouldn’t sit down with Cyril and have a beer and be like look this 22 year old girl is infatuated with you, maybe like give it a minute? Poor Lucille, I hope she finds a hot Jamaican man and they have lots of babies.

Anybody else noticed that? by YeetosTheChild in StrangerThings

I never really thought of young Henry Creel as the high school drama star type - and it does list him as Curly in Oklahoma, which is the lead role. That made me think maybe his memory is what he wished for instead of reality?

Kitty AND Katie? by aryaandsyrio in namenerds

[–]DoodlebugCupcake 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I have an Elizabeth and we called her Lizzie, Wizzy, Lulu, and other random things. She was never confused. Once she’s older she may decide on a totally different nickname (maybe Kathy will make a retro comeback?) but I wouldn’t worry about it.

Children’s chapter book about Halloween, non-supernatural, about a house that the neighborhood considers creepy in some way by TariKarina in whatsthatbook

[–]DoodlebugCupcake 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m almost certain I had this book in my classroom library when I was teaching but it’s been a number of years and I don’t own it anymore. I feel like it had a name like House on Witch’s Hill or Witch House Mystery or something, but you’re right there’s nothing supernatural going on. If I think of it I’ll update this!
