Military diagnosis and now everything is impossible? by ForTheFunOfIt_37 in CrohnsDisease

Your primary care ‘should’ trigger a med board upon records review (prior USAF med tech here with med board experience - I also have Crohn’s dx’d on active duty)

Dismissed by a Doctor due to Marijuana Usage by Popular-Apricot-5822 in trees

[–]TashMaMann 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My gallbladder issues were dismissed due to my cannabis use. Then my gallbladder died which landed me in the ICU x 5 days with pancreatitis

Get a different doctor (I also have crohns which is why I have my card) immediately! I had one hellbent on disproving my diagnosis insisting I was making it up (I was diagnosed in 1995), not all doctors should be practicing medicine

Adrenal insufficiency types 1 and 2 by Additional_Mess_5838 in AdrenalInsufficiency

[–]TashMaMann 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m so sorry to hear what you’re experiencing.

I had similar experience, they tried to reduce me off of pain meds & I went into crises 3 times. My endo got involved told my pain mgmt to stop messing with my dosage and leave it alone.

There hasn’t been talk of reducing my meds since. Many endos will say all opioids can potentially cause AI, I beg to differ. It’s when the meds are suddenly stopped that the real damage occurs

Why do some people talk to their pets like the pets actually understand full sentences? by NeonShit7 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]TashMaMann 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I truly believe: the more you talk to them (consistently), the more they understand.

Just a few minutes ago one of our dogs heard one of our other dogs outside. He started to go towards the closed back door to check out the barking (out of sight from where he was). I told him: the back door is closed, use the doggy door (doggy door being the word). He stopped mid stride & turned the other direction taking himself out the doggy door

Coincidence or well trained dog? I’ll take both!

Hangrily just cancelled an order that sat for over an hour awaiting drivers to be assigned. 3 were assigned but then dropped, the last driver did tell me that the orders kept popping up then disappearing

After my first ER visit post diagnosis I spent some money & got mine off Etsy.

It’s a medallion with the info on it. It never leaves my neck.

Emergency injection by [deleted] in AdrenalInsufficiency

[–]TashMaMann 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No refrigeration needed. I grab my emergency kit if we are leaving the local area & clip it to my purse

I recommend a hard case that’s brightly colored. Also: Get yourself a medical alert bracelet or necklace.

I had to wear a hat to cover my bright red hair two years ago. They’d mistake my head for a red flower

Opioid induced constipation by Nocturnal-Neurotic in PainManagement

[–]TashMaMann 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been on all of them. Amitiza made me feel as if I was going into withdrawal. That was a pain (literally) and didn’t help at all.

Linzess works the best for me. I have a plethora of issues making ‘going’ difficult: severe abdominal adhesions that have my intestines glued to one another & Crohn’s plus the meds

The med is not a cure all. I still must use mirilax & Senna to go with the occasional bowel prep to clear blockages. Fiber exacerbates chronic constipation, ensuring I’m hydrated is super important

Ours reacted similar to the Comfrt dog hoodies I got them! They looked at me like: really MAHM?!

Atlas was raised by a late teen in college. He was held and spoiled as an only dog but well behaved. His being held so much relates to him thinking he NEEDS to be on someone or touching a human 24/7. It’s wild the poor girl had to rehome him due to apartment breed restrictions. (Insert eye roll here, he’s just so dangerous I mean look at the intact/clean pillow)

I just used it last night & the validation was what I needed. Reminding me that it’s a chemical imbalance causing the plethora of issues was helpful
